Game Informer's January cover is of...South Park? Wait, don't laugh. South Park: The Game is a real game, a collaboration between THQ and Obsidian. This isn't some crap cash grab, either. Instead you'll get a full-blown RPG for PS3 and Xbox 360, with series creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone writing the script and performing the dialogue. In it you'll play as the new kid in town, where you'll have to make friends and protect the town.
This has to be something to be a cover story. GI says that their January issue will have all the details, including an interview with Parker and Stone.
This could be good.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Yes I do, but let's wait and see before we get excited for pissing in snow to throw at turkeys.
But yeah South Park somehow got smarter and better throughout the years, so hopefully their games will age in the same manner. Sign me up.
Ewwww.
Butters and Cartman are timeless.
And why is Obsidian working on this? Surely they have something worthwhile they could be doing.
>Let's hope that the South Park boys can force a little quality control into the equation. Otherwise it'll be another glitchy beta release they'll hope to patch up later like New Vegas.
DS3 was extremly polished and bug free. Camera position in multiplayer was the only problem I had with it.
You have one of the worst developers doing it, whose projects continually flop or do worse than the games they use as a rip off base and a series that doesnt make good games
are you mad because Squeenix isnt doing it?
IDGAF. I will gladly shell out money for this if its being written by Matt & Trey
U mad that it's not on the 3DS or the Wii. Your troll face really starts to show when the story doesn't specifically mention 3DS sales.
Most of Obsidian's games do not flop.
KOTOR II did fine, even after they were rushed by the publisher to get the game out. Neverwinter Nights 2 did excellent. New Vegas sold like gangbusters. Dungeon Siege III had modest sales.
They also don't "rip off" series. They are directly hired by publishers to work on sequels.
This could be the greatest moment of my life
Haha get it!? Get it?.....
I'll shut up now...
