What's the Forza 3 'Ultimate Collection'? photo

Australia's OFLC has rated the Forza 3 Motorsport: Ultimate Collection, and that's more than Microsoft or developer Turn 10 Studios have done so far -- it's a potential package that's yet to be announced.

It would make sense that the Ultimate Collection would include all of the downloadable content released for the racer following its release. That's a lot of content, including a slew of cars and new courses. Joystiq, who spotted the OFLC listing, theorizes that his holiday would be a great time to release the collection, to compete with Sony's own car porn, Gran Turismo 5.

Forza 3 is apparently pretty good -- Dale gave it a 10 out of 10. This means, of course, that the Ultimate Collection is an 11. Obviously.

Forza 3 'Ultimate Collection' rated by OFLC? [Joystiq]

As a hardcore FM3 player... GT5 will make it look rather meh apart from body kits and paint jobs.

As for an Uber pack. its no shock as they did it with FM2.

I already have FM3, and love the hell out of it, I skipped a few DLC packs, so this might make up for it, pending on price. GT5 still has my interest piqued with WRC Licensing and whatnot, but what I'd really like to hear is Konami Announcing a sequel to Enthusia...

God. DAMN. IT.

This better not be $60. I may have to get it as Forza 3's DLC eats up close to 2 GB on my HDD.

That, or go find a new HDD somewhere cheap.

11? That's too fucking low. Forza is obviously a 20.

Sarcasm aside, I may get this. I bought all the DLC for 2 and felt stupid when they just released it all with the game. Packaging them together is a great idea.

@sofik88:

Personally, I've found the physics in the GT series to be a lot more accurate than those in Forza; do you have a source for claiming that they're inferior? Also, all the comparisons I've seen involving GT5 cars have made them look fantastic -- what's your source for saying they're lacking in detail?

@Dokushin: he has no sources, just his delusional xbot point of view

All I can say is GT3 taught me how to drive better.(thank you license tests) Forza was a mess compared. Forza feels nothing like real world conditions (even at 60 mph) but GT does. I own a mustang and it certainly doesn't behave like it does in Forza (2 at least).

Shit, and here I am playing Forza because its a fun game. If I had known I was meant to be playing them in order to improve real world skills I would of been doing that all along and got a PS3 in the process.

Thank you Netnavi for telling me the error of my ways.

@ Themightylebeau2009
lol but I do play them for fun. I may not like Forza as much as GT but I love the crap outta Forza 2, even though I lose every race. I just have a special place for GT3 because it helped ,y 16 year old self not get into any crashes and actually showed me (through the license tests) why the car handled the way it did. I don't see anything like that in Forza (didn't play F3).

@sofik88
what makes you think I haven't? I love racing games. I usually get my hand on any new racing game that comes out. I just prefer GT to Forza. I don't disagree with anything you are saying in your above post, but those games just don't feel right. I never liked the braking in Forza (even though it was improved from part 1). I may try Race Pro though I haven't head about it till now. Thanks for the recommendation.

@ Netnavi - fuck me, someone with a sense of humour! Fair do's, I used to play the crap out of GT on PS2. I actually hated Forza 2, just couldnt get into it.

As for physics....I cant say I care for them, so long as cars 'handle' Im fine.

However, all this is nonsense, we all know the new NFS is going to be THE racing game of 2010.

Although I love Forza3, it doesn't deserve a 10. The interface is clunky, you can't specify the laps of a quick race, although the bots are automatically matched to your vehicle class. Conversely you can specify the laps of an online race, but the bots are all S/R class cars.

Thankfully the game play is perfect; I've had a few of the old V8 and jap cars from the game and the weight transfer is spot on, feels really natural.

The only thing I miss from Gran Turismo is the license tests. Getting the S class license felt like one of the greatest achievements ever, at the time. It demanded perfection.
