Weird, I though Vesperia sold fairly well on 360, as far as JRPG's go. Yet Star Ocean is still coming over, which from what I knew did considerably worse than Tales.
It was pure fear that held Scamco back from bringing that here. They knew better not to piss us off. =P
Plus the PS3 is way more popular in Japan, and JRPGs are way more popular in Japan, so it probably would only work there.

Funny, I wanted the 360 version of Tales of Vesperia before I heard about how much better the PS3 version is, so I figured I would wait for it to come here on PS3. Now that it isn't, (assuming they're not lying) I just won't buy it, since playing the 360 version would bug me because of all the content I'd be missing out on.
I think the poor sales for the (USA) PS3 version Eternal Sonata has doomed any chances of a (US) PS3 Tales of Vesperia to appear here. :(

After all of the months of waiting, calling the voice actors back to the studio, Yuri's voice actor Troy Baker telling people he'd recorded new dialog, the new listings for the PS3 version on all the German websites, all of the fan-speculation, the multitude of sales the Japanese version has received, the killing they've made on their bullshit overpriced DLC, the English text found in the game's code, and the fans crawling all over every piece of fucking information released looking for a Western release date?

That reminds me. I need to finish Tales of Vesperia. I've put over 50hrs into that game and I'm pretty sure I'm near the end.
This is weird. Then again this might be the typical bi-polar nature of them picking choosing which tales to release stateside. It couldn't hurt them to release this stateside as everyone knows about it and the extra's this version has so it's not like their will be any more controversy. People who have not bought vespira will want to buy this version.
I was fine when I found out the Last Remnant was a lost cause with concerns to hitting the PS3, but this one I really wanted to play. Granted, at this point after seeing Yakuza 3 getting brought stateside (and the same for Tatsunoku vs. Capcom) I don't really trust companies when they say they have no plans for a US release.
Bamco is retarded, they are really going to use eternal sonata as a vice not to release tales stateside. Who did eternal sonata appeal to? I mean there is a reason it did not sell well, but tales has a decent following here. I don't know, I still think they are just acting nonchalant and will come up with a release date later.
I don't take anything they say seriously. These are the same people that said they had no plans to include the exclusive Star Wars characters in the opposite versions of Soul Calibur 4, then charged us 5 bucks for them a month later.

I never understood why the Tales team made a 360 game in Japan only to release it on PS3. I guess this serves them right, granted we all know Bandai Scamco won't let this fly.
I would just like to see the extra content come over here, thought I wouldn't mind it being put on my PS3. :D

I realize most of you have no culture or class at all. But Eternal Sonata was a freaking amazing game. Visuals 10x more striking and beautiful then ToV and music was amazing. One of the best JRPGs of this gen. Along with ToV, blue dragon, and one or two others. Oh yea, and WKC sucked huge. Now THAT game was horrible.
Tales of Vesperia PS3 MUST come to North America! I will support them and the series, and I don't doubt it will come out, I mean, c'mon with the extra 'unused' voice clips found in the XBOX game of it and the voice actors being called back, and not to mention TALES OF VESPERIA XBOX360 WAS AWESOME, so why WOUDLDN'T there be the ps3 one? :P
PS. Don't hate on Namco or Eternal Sonata, I like both, and if you want Tales of Vesperia PS3, you should be supporting them rather then bashing on them with negative comments. :)

Well it's been two years since this post was started. I am going to revive this thread by saying that during these two years the game still has not been translated for the PS3. NamcoBandai has made many people cry today. I think that it is pointless to keep waiting for the English version to appear. Very sad for us all.
