Really, I'd like to see Soul Calibur and Soul Edge themselves show up as usable weapons if not as full characters who wield avatars the way that other characters use weapons until they break. Adding in Taki wouldn't hurt,either.
Also, Ms. Pac-Man, Karnov, KOS-MOS/TELOS, one or both of the Bad Dudes,Klonoa,Wonder Momo, Rick from SplatterHouse (if he wouldn't be rejected on character concept or game name alone),anyone from Weapon Lord(who have about the same odds as making it in as Rick would)and Bravo-Man.

How are "Digimon" being over looked. I mean, I apologize if my memory is not what it used to be, but Digimon is handled by bandai namco right? And having agumon fighting Pikachu on a box would sell. And fit in the universe really well.
But, I would love a tales character. I think not only would Lloyd be a great fit ( using omega tempest for b up, demon blade for B, Sword rain for b over and etc. ) but it would give hope to the series reaching western shores more. And more on nintendo consoles.

Just to put some Digimon on the wish list:
Renamon,Taomon,Sakuyamon,Nefertimon,Bastemon,Agumon and Pokomon(its name and body type alone are reason enough to want to pit it against Pokemon such as Pikachu).

Lloyd Irving makes a lot of sense, he was the main character of one of the most popular Tales games that was also (outside of Japan) nintendo console exclusive, and has a move set that would work well in a Smash brothers game.
No stick movement + Ability = Demon Fang

Pac Man, Taki, Siegfried (smash power up into Nightmare), Shion, King, Splatterhouse Rick and Galaga ship, Mr Driller and Mappy as trophies.
Um... Pac-Man Mr. and Mrs.? Gotta involve Galaga somehow, Mr. Dig Dug, Mappy Mouse, Albatross from Rolling Thunder, Rick from Splatterhouse, Nina Williams, Ivy from SC and um... some Digimon to fight against Pokemon, Gundam, Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop, Ultraman and... idk.
Personally, I would say Rygar, Dig Dug, or Klonoa... but please for the love of god, no friggin anime characters...
Well, Pac-man's a given. Maybe someone iconic from Soul Calibur like Nightmare or Mitsurugi (would prefer one of the ladies though, Smash Bros. is kind of a sausage fest). Or maybe someone from both Baten Keitos (Nintendo exclusives, after all). Klonoa or Bravoman.

I can handle Pac-Man, Dig-Dug, the Prince, and MAYBE Heihachi. And I don't mean all at once, these are just the possibilities. Soul Calibur characters would really clash horribly. Most of the other stuff is really too obscure to warrant inclusion. And no goddamn anime characters. I'm not opposed to Anime as a thing, there are a few I really love, but that's not the point of Smash Bros. Smash Bros is a celebration of VIDEO GAME nostalgia. And it's worth mentioning that both Heihachi and probably Snake are going to be in All Stars Battle Royale, so it'd be kind of interesting to have them in both games and see how differently they play.

haseo from the .hack//GU series would make an amazing character. he could switch between weapons and become skeith as a finisher. he'd be a very interesting character to play.

I'd like to see Don & Kat included as a duo, like the Ice Climbers. Or perhaps the four ghosts from Pac-Man working together in a similar fashion. Also Monkey and Klonoa.
