What Namco Bandai characters should be in Smash Bros.? photo

The news that Namco Bandai would be teaming up with Project Sora to develop the next game in the beloved Smash Bros. series was unexpected, but very exciting. Namco Bandai is a talented developer responsible for some pretty memorable videogames.

Even though Sakurai recently admitted they would not expand the roster for the new Smash. Bros. on the Wii U and 3DS, I don't necessarily think this means what people think it means. Maybe this is wishful thinking, but I took Sakurai's statement to mean they would not increase the total number of characters -- not that they wouldn't introduce any new faces to the game. Again, this could just be wishful thinking.

But staying in this positive mindset, if new challengers are added, what Namco Bandai-specific characters would you like to see? There are a lot to choose from! Pac-Man. Klonoa. Rick Taylor. Mr. Driller. The King of All Cosmos. Any of the characters from the Tales games. And, my personal favorite, Monkey from Enslaved.

Would any of these characters be good additions to the Super Smash Bros. cast? What Namco Bandai characters would you love to see make appearances in the game? And what about stages? OMG DIG DUG STAGE!

Anticipation Simulator 2015 pushed back to 2016

Most of us were looking forward to the release of Anticipation Simulator 2015 next fall, so it comes as quite a letdown to hear it's been delayed. This morning, Logjam Studios sent out a rather longwinded press...more

Now's a nice time to buy a Wii U: Here's everything you should know

Even if you must play all the Hot New Games, you don't need a PlayStation 4 or an Xbox One to do so until 2015. Enough of them are still releasing on PS3 and 360 this fall. The rest, on PC (and, for some of us, handhelds).  With the recent release of Mario Kart 8 and the upcoming release of Super Smash Bros., you might consider buying a Wii U, though. more

Smash Bros. 4: Hopes, Fears, and Predictions

When it comes to writing about Smash Bros, I'm a control freak. If Destructoid goes more than a day without posting about the series, I get impatient. Smash Bros is actually a big reason why I got started here. Back in 2007, ...more
