I'm totally fine with Namco Bandai helping Sakurai assist in getting this game done (seriously, Sakurai works soooooooo slowly), but I really don't want this series to turn into Nintendo Vs. Namco.
Call me traditional, but I really just want this to be an exclusive-only-to-Nintendo deal. Maybe they can do a spin-off where they crossover, but for now, I'd just like it to be Nintendo characters.
If anything, Mega Man, Bomberman or a Belmont deserve to be a character in it more than any Tales series character, in my opinion.

I'm okay with any of the Tales characters (except Luke Fon Fabre; he go die in a fire as far as I'm concerned) and maybe some people from Soul Calibur like Voldo and Sophitia, though I wouldn't be surprised if we ultimately just end up with Pac-Man.

Unless you mean that he means they won't go above a certain number of characters, and just swap some dudes out for others, then maybe. Otherwise I have a really dark feeling that Sakurai was being Sakurai and being a total downer, as usual.
King of All Cosmo's would be cool, but I have to admit he'd be better as a background peice, specially if we get to play as the Prince and get to grow, in a battleground that grows with us, ultimately leading to him.
Or he could be the end villain (or the reason for the end villain), its not like he hasn't fucked up major in the past and, you know, broke the universe or anything.
Hopefully they don't bring any (or too many) characters from their lisenced stuff.. I suddenly sensed a stupid amount of DBZ characters, although some, like maybe Young Gohan, *could* be pretty cool in context to the usual Smash Bros. Stuff.. Gohan vs Ness sounds like a fun kid battle.

Dig Dug, Mappy, Pacman, Xianghua, Eddie Goro, KOS-MOS, Wonder Momo, Reiji and Xiaomu (from Namco "X" series).
Make Majin an assist trophy! As for characters, put in Klonoa and I'll be happy. I also find it funny how we are talking about this, even though Sakurai said that he really did not want to add anybody new. But when it comes down to it, it is impossible to make a Smash Bros. game that can ever live up to the year where checking the Brawl updates was a daily highlight of mine. Maybe if they had a team pick up the instant production for SSB4 ended, and then gave it a 6 year development cycle, but I doubt it.
a Tekken and Soul Calibur representative. tales character, and KOS-MOS or T-elos, Klonoa and the jump characters(like Naruto, One Piece, Bleach) since they seem fit for this type of game.

Namco Bandai own alot of IP, but not as much as you would think. You would have to research what actual property they own 100%. As they do alot of publishing too.
Seeing also as its an assisted development job, its highly doubtful we would see any NB characters, maybe trophies. But i just cant see a Nintendo Smash game bringing in too much, the end of the day they are still competitors.

Still to classic Namco characters. Don't even fuck with anything Bandai or post merger. No need. Even from the fighting games. It just doesn't work with Smash.
Actually, they should get Katsuhiro Harada in. His finisher is screaming at idiot fans who think their way of playing the game is the only one.
Klonoa, Mr Driller & Pac-Man would fit the the roster very well. Everyone else is cool, but I think they would give the game's atmosphere a different feel. If I had to pick only one though it'd be Klonoa, love that series.
I kinda expect (definitely hope) Pac-man to be in there, but a pleasant surprise would definitely be Monkey. I would love to see him in there and jut think of what his battle stage would look like.

just give me char with his rapier to fight with then his Smash attack can be getting in a Zaku like how Wolf got in the tank in brawl
Lloyd Irving would make a great addition. Demon Fang, Tiger Blade, etc. Final Smash can call out Genis to spout out some cheesy Dwarven Vow and then cast Indignation. He was on a Nintendo system even.
