The days of dedicated handhelds days are numbered. Accept it!
(And now to wait for the hate to spew out. This community loves to hate on mobile gaming.)
These numbers will probably be even higher for tablets and smartphones next year. Opinions opinions opinions...whatever, numbers dont lie. Dedicated handheld consoles are going out folks.
When I was young I was playing with legos and having a blast, then when I got older it was games, books, music etc. Can't believe kids expect to get shit like ipads, tv sets and computers.
We might live in a digital age but this is still a bit much.
We were lucky to get an N64 (it wasn't even new by the time we got it) and we had three games: Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Puzzle League and Perfect Dark. THAT'S IT. We never had other games. I didn't ask for anything else for a long time afterwards
remember Yu-Gi-Oh!(granted many people still play this now; need to get back on it), Gundam Figurines(same as Yu-Gi-Oh) beyblade, text cards, jackstone, Gameboy Color/Advance or even a simple rock paper scissors or chess???
i can tell you people in america are sooo lucky they even get to have these at a young age.
oh well im just glade i get to experience the old ways before gadgets completely take over the new generations.
all im just gonna say is kids are soo spoiled nowadays.
People will always want phones. Won't discourage dedicated handheld development.
I guess that's because they are expensive as hell and my country has seen better days.
Cuz, then it kinda makes sense they don't ask for videogame systems.
When I was a teenager I also asked for things I didn't already have which I also couldn't afford myself, and videogames wasn't one of them.
"Excuse the bitterness, but I'm just not liking paying 40 dollars for a handheld game."
Wouldn't that depend on the game rather than the system?
I have a theory, that hopefully will never be confirmed:
The instant dedicated handhelds disappear, mobile games' prices will go up exponentially.
I know it's hard to accept that the world is changing and we should bitch about it because it's not our childhood and moan about kids being spoiled now.
Me? I want a fucking dirt bike!!
The real question here is how'd those kids get out of the factory and onto the show floor?
