What is this short film ... thing? We don't know. It's related to Mortal Kombat in some capacity, that's for sure. Whether it's a teaser for a new game, another full-fledged film, or something else entirely, all will probably be revealed at E3.
At least, I certainly hope so; I'm dying to hear more. If the video is promotion for an unannounced Mortal Kombat title and is indicative of an all-new direction for the series, that could be mighty interesting. Some of these reimagined characters are so bizarre -- and I mean that as a compliment.
Also, whoever was responsible for casting Michael Jai White (Black Dynamite) as Jax deserves a bonus.

But I'm going to venture that this is going to be a movie reboot. So it's a safe bet that we will also be getting a video game reboot.
Also, surprisingly decent fight for a short film. Looking forward to more.
My thinking is that its a teaser for both a new movie AND a new video game. However, if it were for a movie, I'm surprised this is the first that's been heard of it.

As a huge Mortal Kombat fan(FUCK THE HATERS!) I am FULL HYPED!
Also, if its a straight-to-DVD movie, I would pay exorbitant prices for a DVD/game combo Collectors Edition!
They "The Legend Of Chun-Li"ed Mortal Kombat. Hopefully the abortion of the game's story works better here. Looks like it's going to, anyway.
