I don't really know what this trailer is about, and I'm not sure if I really want to know. It looks like it is a showcase of the different characters you can choose? And why do they all have to be girls, or cat pirate... things? Scratch that, the last thing is actually pretty hot.
Anyway, Otomedius X -- or Otomedius Excellent -- is still coming to the West and while there are GIRLS in front of my gameplay footage (seriously, go away) it should hit North America this Fall when last I heard about it. No official word on a European release yet, so we'll just have to be patient and hope for a quick UK release after the North American version hits retail.

I need a side scroller thingy game kind of like this. I like the normalish ones that dont have 1.2 millions bullets on screen at a single time, I suck big time at those intense games but I like them.
I wish a dev would draw influence from something like Gurren Laggann for a shooter. Methinks such a thing would be amazing, piercing the heavens with your lasers and missiles...
Everyone, including Konami, has a different answer. I want a retail release, and I want it now. If this gets bumped down to XBLA I'll be crushed. I've been waiting for this ever since they said it may come to the US, I'm ready to drop 60 bucks on this, because I'm that excited about it.
Special edition stuff would be nice, too. Or just make the Japanese version region free.
@RenegadePanda: Konami confirmed at E3 that it's coming to the US. Though there's not really a release date, not to mention the US hasn't gotten ANY OTHER NEWS since then.
Huh, I can't seem to remember many games in the Gradius series to have simultaneous play (though all I know of is G5), and three people at that. Looks interesting.
So...the average Otaku/salary-man in Tokyo are supposed to be focusing on what during the gameplay? The bullet hell or avoiding their cum from spraying all over the screen?
Actually, the first thing that really caught me about the trailer was the music. I could use a fun side-scrolling shooter like this, but I'm kind of turned off by the hyper-cleavage aesthetic.
