What has science done!? The Portal turret is real!
I'd like to think that Cave Johnson is a professor at Penn State University, culling the student body for the next great Aperture Science minds. That would most likely explain why YouTuber kss5095 decided to build a fully functional Portal turret for his Advanced Mechatronics final project. This is just a skeleton -- the familiar outer shell will be constructed last -- but it operates exactly as you'd imagine. It tracks movement via a webcam "eye," targets with a laser beam, then fires away. Real bullets have been exchanged for foam darts, but that's a reasonable substitution, I would think. Did you know? Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)You know, i've been saving my first post for the longest time to unleash on the smoothest, most controversial troll I have ever seen infiltrate a community. But today will not be that day TRISTRIX! Rather, to everyone jumping on Mudd (including a staff member) when he is 100% right without question because you like a videogame is taking things from "serious business" to absolute lunacy. If any of you had the forethought to imagine the ramifications your attitudes had in the real world well than maybe you ignoble bastards would do something other than waste your time posting on a VIDEO GAME BLO.......balls nevermind , carry on I don't really agree with Mudd, but at least he can make a coherent and sensible argument, unlike the rest of you retards. I kind of feel bad knocking over and damaging/destroying all those turrets now that I have a clearer idea of the effort that goes into making each one. 8:00 AM on 05.17.2013 Wii U owners don't know how to play Super MetroidIf you're a jaded hardcore gamer, and if you've ever complained that the new generation of "dumbed down" console gamers are the bane of life, prepare to feel justified. 11:00 AM on 05.15.2013 Sonic is a pirate! Covers for Sonic Universe #55As much as it pains me to say, Sonic and Mega Man's fun times together in "Worlds Collide" won't last forever. But hopefully enough new readers will be ready and willing to stick around for what lies ahead for both heroes. Th...

3:00 PM on 05.13.2013 Jimquisition: Objectification And ... Men?A common argument in the ongoing debate over gender and videogames is that women and men both are equally objectified. Is that really true? As always, Emperor God King Jim Sterling puts His holy foot down and delivers wisdom true to the masses. He totally isn't smug about it, either!
