"Instead of looking like a cross between Vash the Stampede and Sephiroth, he actually looks like...an original character. OH SHIT."
Just like everything else, Ninja Theory is trying to continue this trend for DmC, and dipshits continue to hate them for no reason.
Team Ninja combat with pin-to-the-air aerial combat, no lock on, removal of styles, and Bayonetta's PS3-port frame rate. None of that sounds enticing or like DMC. People love GoW's simplistic combat, though, so I'm sure the technical action niche this series used to fill will be swallowed hole by something more mainstream, and any complaints will continue to be labeled as fanatical...

Also I'm getting massive No More Heroes vibes from this. I like this.
aka the dark and edgy reboot bullshit
@The Spooky
That quote is dumb. So just because Dante wore a red trenchcoat that looks nothing like Vash's and has white hair that looks nothing like Sephiroth's, he's automatically a combination of those two characters and was never an original looking character? That's bullshit. And the new Dante may look "original" (if you're not looking at the comparison photos of him and the game's designer), but it is neither true to the character it's supposed to be or very appealing.
The only thing I like about Ninja Theory games are the stories they write, which is why I'm curious about this new DmC. Enslaved had a fantastic story, but its gameplay was incredibly weak and too automated (like Uncharted on Auto-Pilot). Based on past Ninja Theory games and gameplay videos from DmC, I already know it's going to be boring, repetitive shit. But I'll try it out just to see where they're going with the story.
Also holy fuck, what's with the capslock, dude
And remember gaiz:
"Good gamers can judge games from footage and trailers without playing it. If you think this looks good you're just a bad gamer."

Wut? Now I have to follow a code of honor to be a "good gamer"?
You shall not play Angry Birds

What double standards?
If you look hard enough you can find the same people hating on Nero (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TyxmeDBxTA) and hating on Dino (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqlvQ-K4OOg). Otherwise, look on forums or google "Nero Hate".
Fortunately, Dante is playable for half of DMC4 so that game managed to get redeemed pretty quickly. Especially as in this industry (and probably any of them), when a terrible idea (Reboot DMC, new company, new direction) is presented, an odd idea (Add a new character, half of the focus on him or so, Dante is secondary) can look brilliant.
Dante the original taking a less key role in the story than 100% isn't on the same level as Dante being completely different, the combat and controls being different, the fundamental lore being different and the series being all but replaced by an "in name only" installment.
Keep sucking that Capcom cock, Jimbo. Never change...
It's because Capcom (and most other developers) are too scared to risk releasing a brand new IP. So instead, they slap titles like "Resident Evil" or "Devil May Cry" on everything since they're established franchises that are guaranteed sales.
I mean really, white hair, exposed chest.
Really.
Who walks around like this and kills demons.
He's wearing some kind of bra thing too, if that's not homoerotic, then I don't what it is.
At least the Vergil wearing a fedora complaints are true. They look horrible on anyone not called Harrison Ford.
Also Jim, are you the fat guy from the trailer? How much DID Ninja theory pay you for that privilege?
