Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

What do you think of the Metal Gear Revengeance demo?

7:00 PM on 01.22.2013 // Hamza CTZ Aziz

The Dtoid community weighs in

The Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance demo is now up on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network. The demo is based on the Tokyo Game Show demo we saw last year, and sees Raiden fighting cyborgs, Geckos, and the dog robot with a chainsaw for a tail.

We've been looking forward to this new entry to the Metal Gear universe long before it was even a Platinum Games project. Now we're just under a month away from the February 19 release in the US.

While I intend on playing the ever living hell out of Revengeance when it's officially released, the demo has left me a bit turned off. My attempts are parrying attacks seemed to work only half the time, leaving me frustrated more often than not. I need to give the demo a few more spins, as others didn't seem to run into my problem when I brought it up on Twitter. It probably also doesn't help that I'm just coming off of a big high from DmC's combat system, which I adore.

What do you think of the Revengeance demo?

Just a reminder that you have until the 30th to get your Bloggers Wanted post, "Thankful it's over" in. I'm either going to tell you how I ruined my best online gaming experience or rip Twilight Princess a new one. Maybe both.

Huh. I just found out the developers of Hatred (remember that controversy?) region-locked their game to prevent it from being accessed by Australians. Destructive Creations are more censor-happy than Nintendo, it seems. Where's the outrage?
Oh yeah, I have an account on this site.

Got Resident Evil 4 Wii for $5. Uh ... this might be my favorite version. I'm just getting headshots nonstop. Did I miss any other Wii games that are frequently overlooked? Like, really obscure Wii games that no one talks about? I'm interested.

Update: played through Hyper Dimension Neptunia Rebirth, reminded why I don't like the series, and requested a refund on it and its sequel. Not sure if they'll refund the sequel, but if they honor at least the first, I'll use that money to get Undertale.

I hope the new Star Wars movie answers the biggest question I have about the franchise; do Midi-Chlorians poop?
