Does anyone tease as mush as Capcom? Seems like they enjoy talking about the games they thought about making just as much as the stuff they actually finish. Take this sample from the Secret File promotional 'zine for Tatsunoko Vs Capcom for instance. It features official-looking artwork of (headless) Phoenix Wright (maybe by Shinkiro?) and what appear to be in-game screenshots of the game featuring Ingrid from Capcom Fighting Jam. Awesome.
Actually, I could go either way on Ingrid, but Phoenix Wright is something else. The ideas that Capcom had for his combat style were brilliant. Why are they showing this to us now? Is there a chance that he could end up in the game after all, or is Capcom just looking to frustrate me (again)?
If Phoenix doesn't make it into this fighter, how about next one? Please Capcom?
Please?
OK, enough begging. You can look at the original file in the gallery, as well as the close up of the Ingrid/Phoenix bits used for the image above.

If Phoenix Wright were in the game, I would buy it. Plain and simple. Given that he appears on a Nintendo system, doesn't it make a great deal more sense that he's in the game versus Frank West?
Anyway, it would be really awesome if Capcom had actually kept some of this hidden until the very last minute. I'd love to be able to get a game and not already know everything that was in it.
There is already a ton of outrageous attacks in TvC, but Phoenix Wright was considered too over the top?
Seriously, there are tidal waves, trains, giant robots, and Frank West throws EVERYTHING but the kitchen sink at you. Make Phoenix Wright happen in TvC Capcom!
That Ingrid art indeed is official and was done by Shinkiro, but it is for the came Capcom Fighting Evolution, not for TvC.

What Xzyliac and Holyetheline said. I thought I'd read this before. This reminds me of when you and Nick posted the same story a few hours apart. Classic times!

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Obligatory sex joke.
He could use throw his attorney badge like a spinning attack, or maybe use the magatama to stun or make his opponents vuneralbefor some time.
