Today's World Famous Portmanteau will be yet another experiment, as the "winner" will get to take over the feature this Friday while I play the booth babes and take pictures of the games at Blizzcon. The other difference is that this portmanteau will be hypothetically endless, as there are no actual prizes being given out.
So after my port is defeated (presumably by Gomeja), you guys and gals can go back and forth as long as you really want to. Then on Thursday I will contact whoever had the longest running port (the one that took the most questions/guesses to solve) and that person will get to start the port on Friday.
If you still haven't participated in a portmanteau yet, now's as good a time as any. Today's is especially easy, so hit the jump for a crash course in portmanteau-ing and get kraken.
What is a portmanteau?
A portmanteau is basically an educated (and at times, not-so-educated) guessing game where you ask yes or no questions to figure out the solution. The solution is always a game title and a movie title that share a word, such as Dawn of the Dead Rising. Get it?
Examples of questions are as follows:
Does the game have online multiplayer?
Is the movie rated R?
Rules and shizzle:
1: The game can be found on Gamespot.com using their extensive Gamefinder database.
2: The movie can be found on the Internet Movie Database.
3: Listening to Destructoid theme song entries will help you solve the port.
4: You can only make two guesses or questions at a time, then you must wait until your questions are answered before asking again.
5: Since I'm not leaving my computer any time soon, you can expect answers every 5 to 10 minutes depending on how many questions stack up.
Ready?
