Weta rocks out the Blizzard offices with huge WoW statue photo

The folks over at Tomopop have known for some time that Weta is the bomb, so I wasn't at all surprised to find out that they were behind the creation of the incredible statue you see above. Kotaku reported on the World of Warcraft-themed effigy, which stands in front of their new offices for the world to oooh and aaah over.

Blizzard employees were all given a small version of the statue to commemorate the move, but the front lawn gets the giant one, obviously. At twelve feet in height, it ought to give visitors something to take pictures of and proudly show off to all their World of Warcraft buddies. I personally would have preferred a statue of Deckard Cain that talked, but I get that isn't nearly as epic. Oh well.

I'm kind of sick of these Weta statues actually. Just too many of them.

Collette: LOL @ Deckard Cain. Like a motion detector that has a speaker with one phrase. All day. "Stay a while and listen!" "Stay a while and listen!" "Stay a while and listen!" "Stay a while and listen!"

awwyeadatsright: this is the very first thing I thought of at the mention of Deckard Cain. Although, imagine how annoying that would get. All you want is to know whether or not the jacket you found on the street has magical properties and he's wheezing at you "stay awhile and listen!"

First they blow us away with the SFX for Lord of the Rings, they turn a New Zealand woman into a mermaid, and now this! Weta is abso-freaking-lutely amazing!

That's pretty bad ass but a talking Deckard Cain would be way cooler.

Liking the level of detail on it. I guess with 12 feet to work with you better not skimp on detail though. Deckard Cain suggestion sounds pretty damn cool although I may agree with the annoyance of the constant, "Stay awhile..." bit. A Starcraft ghost would have been pretty cool. "You call down the thunder?"

Collette/Awwyeah/Johnson/Draconian:

God, now I'm just thinking of my favorite part of that Diablo 3 gameplay vid.
Deckard: Stay awhile, and-
Barbarian: There's no time for idle talk!
Deckard: No-one ever listens... :(
