WET kind of stumbled at the starting block when it become one of the victims of the Activision cull following the evil publisher's acquisition of Vivendi. For a while it looked like the game would be stuck forever in limbo until Bethesda snapped up the Stranglehold-esque title. Now WET finally has a release date, and it'll be rocking your consoles on September 15.
"We’ve worked really hard to make WET different from any other action game available," says Patrick Fortier, creative director at developer A2M. "When players experience the game’s unique blend of gunplay, sword combat and acrobatics, they won’t want to put the controller down."
WET has been looking good for a while, but I'm with my colleague Dale North when he says that "looks" is the key word. Hopefully it will play better than Stranglehold, which also looked like a lot of fun but played quite drearily and repetitively. I'm looking forward to finding out if it plays as good as it looks, in any case.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
FUCK
YES!!!!!!!
From what I've seen, this game looks like everything I love in Tarantino and Rodriguez films, IN A GAME. I'm pretty sure something about it will be broken (this always happens with games I'm REALLY stoked about, see Alone in the Dark and Prototype), but I'll at least rent it. Rage mode alone looks damn sick.
...Wait, I think I did that wrong.
FAP.
But I predict someone being ripped in half when the intensity rises.
looks pretty though. maybe after the holiday rush and Brutal legend/Dragon Age/Borderlands are finished up.
