I'm not expecting anything more out of A2M's action shooter/slasher WET than a schlocky, over-the-top good time. The commercial spot for the game, which hits stores tomorrow, lives up to that potential.

The stylized Grindhouse look and feel, complete with grainy film effects pretty much set the tone for what I think A2M is trying to deliver -- the videogame equivalent of the b-movies I used to rent in high school, based on their oversized boxes and the various "banned in (insert country here)" claims. Cinematic masterpieces these films were not, but a damned good time on a lazy Sunday afternoon with some friends looking to have a laugh and some good times.

"There's a word for people who cross her," the spot's dramatic announcer says, referring to the game's protagonist, before a long pause, "dead."

Sold.

The trailer doesn't do the game justice.

Play the demo.

I loved the demo, shame it doesn't come out until the 18th in Europe :(

I really want to play the demo but since i'm under 18 i have to deal with that retarded Live prohibition.
Have to wait 'till the reviews come out.

The trailer is straight cheesey... but the demo is DAMN good. I've played it a couple times on both systems and I can't get enough. Fun as hell.

The WET demo was good...Just not $60 good. More like $29.99 good.

The demo was cool as cake. I've actually been watching a lot of those ol' explotation grindhouse films. I should at least rent WET while the mood has me.

@DJDuffy

Your telling me!

I died about 5 times when you get to the car chase part!
I tried tapping the buttons, holding the buttons, pressing them once...etc. I kept dying at the same part EVERY time!!! I gave up and deleted it from my PS3 and right then and there I wrote the game off as being a meh title. Nothing before hand impressed me to much besides the part where you go psycho. This seemed like stranglehold with a new skin.

Maybe $20-30 but not a brand new purchase at all.

@mix and DJDuffy
First it's ironic one if you is named DJ and the other is mix.

Second I never failed the QTE once. Maybe it's the PS3 version?

@Xzyliac

Lol.

It might be as I've never felt like such a retard with a QTE event as I did with this game. I died less throughout Re4 and Re5 combined during their QTE's than I did in this single sitting with this WET demo :(

Loved the demo, and found the QT segment to be fun as well. Made it through w/no problems, and would definitely prefer to have that segment be in there as a QT bit than to be cut out because it would've been impossible to play as "normal gameplay."

Can't say I feel too great on this one.

And I really feel bad for the developers. They just wanted to make a fun over the top Tarantino tribute, which THEY HAVE.. But that doesn't justify the 60 dollar price tag.

Rental, then bargain bin. How sad.

I can't believe so many people enjoyed this demo! Did no one else feel that the level design was WAY too crammed and tight for the kind of free-running controls that this game lends itself to?

I played the demo and I have to say that I agree with everyone that's saying $30/rental. I really wanted to like the game enough to justify getting it day one but it didn't strike me as something that was worth the $70 Canadian that I would have to drop on it.

A2M studios? Sure they aren't a porn company? With a title of WET and a girl being involved, I'd expect to find this title at a nudie magazine shop.

The game is crap, it looks like what was suppose to be a Wii game like Red Samurai but they decided to put it on the big boys console. It looks like literal shit. Plays like shit too. Whats screwed up is it's being published by Bethesda. Not that I'm all that fond of them really.

I thought it was fun, loved the style, and the soundtrack was downright INSANE (referring to the demo here). But again, not worth $60. I'll probably pick it up when it drops to $30, or Goozex it then send it right back after I beat it.

I was really looking forward to this, but the demo was simply awful. Sloppy controls don't work for a fast-paced action game, and the constant film flickering murdered my eyes within minutes. Looks good in trailers, soundtrack seems like it'll be good, but to actually play it's disappointingly, obnoxiously bad.

I played the demo. Not bad, the controls are a little weird, but I'm still going to give it a change. I play the demo again. We'll see.

I liked how they changed certain songs like the the one from Viva Las Vegas. And the changed in color was mad crazy of a good idea to change from. I would admit it is a good game but worth about $20-$30 bucks if you wanted to buy it.
