When I first heard word of a new Red Faction game, I wasn't too excited. I absolutely adored the first Red Faction, but the second one destroyed my love for the series (plus, it doesn't help that Red Faction 1 does not stand the test of time). After reading Nick Chester's preview of Red Faction 3, I got excited, but I was still a little skeptical.
This new preview from IGN has me completely excited for the game now. The big changes to the series look so good: the third-person view, open-world exploration and real-life destruction physics have put the game on my radar. My only question now is whether I’ll still have the ability to just make endless tunnels to nowhere, like in the first game.
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Actually looking at their wiki page apparently they made Saints Row in between The Punisher and now, huh. I wasn't aware they were the dev of that.
I don't have a clue how good that game was, other than it was apparently buggy enough to have a buggy Saint's Row musical made. :3
Endless? i remeber that being the first game i played with mates where we didn't fight we just made tunnels.
It was only about 40 rockets though then no further.
Wiked games though (red faction 2 WAS wiked)
This is gonna be so awesome, I read an article about how they had to send all their leveldesigners to a course about building structurally sounds buildings since their engine is so realistic in collapsing buildings, the default setup that most games use for buildings just didn't cut it, the moment they 'started' the game, most buildings would just collapse :-)
It's looking pretty fucking good. I'm excited to mess with the physics since it sounds pretty realistic. The way the open world system sounds slightly unique too.
I'm excited for this one. The original was a damn fine game but I never checked out the sequel. I really like where they are going with the story in this new one, even if its not the most original thing going.
