Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

Cho Aniki is probably best known for being among the most arguably homosexual video games ever created, or to be objective it stars more muscular men in thongs than any other shooter ever. It's one part Hard Gay and one part Sexy Parodius whose most prominant release was on the PC Engine, which means massive sprites and great music... and lots of misplaced muscle groups. But alas, this game remains rare and weird as it was only played by a) The Japanese and b) a few amused teenage guys with part time jobs in the 90's. If you thought Parodius was a departure from the standard shooter, just watch the videos and squirm. Two more vids from this series and more hunka burning love after the jump! choanikielvis.png So why would you want to play this game? GameSetWatch writes: "Giant chess pieces in space. Elvis space ships. Two muscle-bound brothers pruning flowers from their heads. Those are the biggest reasons. The sprites and graphics defy the imagination. Each level is broken up into three or four sections, each with unique bosses in them, and even the tamest are still challenging. This game, which has you soaring through a cityscape or into outer space with original and hilarious enemies at every turn, is the epitome of imaginative thinking in a stale genre." aichoaniki-8.png The title of the game translates roughly into Super Big Brother (no relation to 1984), referring to Sampson and Adon, who are only support characters for the first title (the two naked guys on either side of the caped hero, kinda like options). However in the later sequels, they are the main attraction - and are not shy about it whatsoever! Just take a look at these screen caps... choaniki-10.png Cho-aniki-psx-5c.jpg Want more? Check out: Massive article and screenshots on Hardcore Gaming 101 Cho Aniki on Wikipedia and its sequels. "The game's sequels and spin-offs later appeared on the Super Nintendo, Saturn, Playstation, Wonderswan and PlayStation 2." GamesetWatch's column on Cho Aniki Where can you get this game today? Dude. Ebay. They are reasonably inexpensive carts, and some of the roms are available online, but I strongly recommend purchasing the CD-ROM originals due to the amazing music they packed in. In fact, the soundtrack to the game outsold the game by a landslide! Even if you're not a gaymer but enjoy shocking friends with your weird finds at social gatherings, look no further than Cho Aniki for memorable sofa conversations. COCC-15041.jpg
