Weekly LBP DLC: Get your LocoRoco on my Sackboy, also T.V. photo

Until today, I thought it would be a significant challenge to make the Kratos costume seem obsolete in LittleBigPlanet. The latest content update for LBP will feature six costumes in total. Five of them (packaged together) will be themed after my personal favorite PSP title, LocoRoco. As you can see from the above image, these are all adorable and worth every penny of the $2.99 price tag.

In addition to the LocoRoco stuff, there will also be a free costume. You may remember Media Molecule’s contest where winners would have their images represented in the game. Designer “neu1ou5” just got this great honor with his clever TV-themed Sackboy. I’m not sure if there is a metaphor here, but I can’t help but to wonder the inspiration. If you’re interested, MM’s interpretation of his drawing can be seen here and can be downloaded along with the LocoRoco stuff this Thursday.

What do you guys think about the LocoRoco costumes? I’m wicked hyped, actually. Now if I could only get confirmation that Sackboy will inherit the power to bite stuff. Not only would that be an awesome new skill, but it is also the only proper way to celebrate LocoRoco 2’s eventual arrival.

2.99 Really? I didn't like LBP to much. Might have something to do with the fact that none of my friends would buy it.

Yeah, fuck this nickle and dimeing Sony is doing. This was supposed to be their big game and it flopped. I guess 2009 is gonna have to be the year of the PS3, or 2010, or 2011.

Also, the black sackboy on the end is a bit too racist for me.

Yeah, useless costumes are TOTALLY worth $3.

Wait, no. No they aren't.

yar, 3 dollars for this? rip-off, if I had LBP or a PS3 for that matter I wouldn't even give it a second thought.

Really? 3 Dollars?

The kind of money that I throw down for a cup of coffee.

A very minuscule amount even with my shitty part-time job?

I don't see how its a ripoff for something that completely optional and not at all integral to the content provided.

Holy crap.

I honestly wonder about some of your folks that cry over micro transactions. Do you think additional content is built by benevolent gnomes at night, while the programmers are asleep?

Most of us spend more on a day's commute to work. At the very most, I think a reasonable human being would be ambivalent about a three dollar investment in more costumes for someone's favorite game:

"Hey. This isn't for me, but if someone wants a few more sackboy costumes, more power to them."

However, the venom some of you spew over inconsequential amounts of cash used for purchasing inconsequential game items is mind-boggling.

Plus, it's not like they're not tossing in a freebie costume every time they put out a costume pack. Everybody wins here! Yay for the gamers!

I think many of you react this way in order to take the piss out of a game/console that you dislike or don't own. I can't imagine anyone really cares about this as an issue by itself. If three dollars has such a huge impact in your life, stop super-sizing for a few days. Amirite?

Way overpriced. Costumes should not cost more than 10p, if at all.

Locoroco PS3 screensaver(?)/game is how much, 6,99? These stupid costumes cost almost half as much.

Maybe they'll become free after 9 months or something...I can wait. I think they should put out the different Katamari cousins...like Miso and Ichigo.

All you people are goddamn poor, it's 3 fucking dollars.

And while i don't like being nickel and dimed i do understand that from a business standpoint this is an excellent way to offset server cost. Considering the game is 50% online and they host all the content and don't charge anything for it.

"...none of my friends would buy it."

You sir, have strange friends.

If I had a credit card I would get it. I don't care about 2 bucks. Honestly what can you get for 2 bucks these days? Can of milk? Couple of donuts? I realize there are quite a few people that have to turn every penny six times to make it till the end of the week but for me (and a lot more) 2 bucks is nothing.

I watched a commercial for this title that did nothing to explain what this damn game is actually about. Just had their cute little characters run around the screen screaming basically. 'Waste $60 on me! I'm adorable!!'

People seem in love with this thing though so maybe I will check it out.

@battyadroit

I couldn't have said it better myself. People look for stuff to bitch about. And this very small DLC is cannon fodder for them, whether they be console fanboys or just plain aholes, ignorant morons, or all of the above. This costume pack is the cost of a cup of coffee at Starbucks. FFS if you don't own the console or title what are you bitching about? Its not like it effects you at all. You bitch because you like to bitch, well guess what that makes you? Yup, a bitch. And heres a shocker, if you don't want it, DON'T BUY IT.

I'll grab the free one but the others don't interest me enough to purchase as I don't own a PSP and didn't know what Locco Rocco was.
