[Weekend Destructainment is a collection of funny videos brought together from all across the Internet to bring you entertainment on these slow and boring weekends.]

Music, ads, spawning, and more await you in this edition of Weekend Destructainment. Up first is a preview video for chiptune covers of Daft Punk songs. Then it's a montage of bad spawning moments in Halo 3. Next up, Dtoider NukaCola does River City Ransom on the drums. Then it's an awesome SNES medley arrangement split up into two videos.

Random Robot Intermission is up next with Optimus Prime on David Letterman. Then, two ads from Mega64 promoting GameTap. The Destructainment ends with Mario vs the key mask guard.

Oh wait I thought you meant Optimus Prime, not Michael Bay's bastard of bolts

But going in a real show, I really love Mega64's Gametap ads, especially the second one.

Mario vs Mask was effing hilarious. And the SNES Arranged Medley is..ugh words can't even describe it! I'm interested to know what some of those games are though. I knew Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Ogre Battle, FF4, 5, & 6, Link to the Past, Ys III. One of them looked like Romancing Saga.

That SNES medley was absolutely amazing, I didin't think ti could get more awesome, but then Exdeath, Lavos and kefka showed up on the screen at the same time and clash on the big bridge started playing. the weekend destructainment could've been just that and it would've still been amazing.

Also also, the Super Famicom medley was spectacular. Maybe more than that.

There's something about that transition from SimCity to the Mario games to that opera scene from FFIII that seems so brilliant in that medley. Everything else in the medley was great, but that portion sticks out the most for me.

That SMB2 vid was interesting, gave me a few chuckles.

Having trouble with a boss? Want to impress your friends? Buy "Shoryuken"! Just uppercut your troubles away!

But seriously, that SNES medley is quite possibly the most epic thing I've ever seen. 20 years from now, a movie script somewhere is going to include the line [Crono and Frog fight monsters while riding F-Zero machines].

Cool... But ehh... Not very good storytelling. Chrono and Frog show up in someone's universe and they fight a boss. And usually that boss kicks someone's ass a bit, then something happens so that the boss dies. Then they move on.

There really isn't any conflict resolution at all.

I'd love that SNES medley way more if it wasn't so stupidly RPG-heavy. Never played FF, Chronotrigger or DragonQuest on SNES so 95% of the songs were redundant for me.
Anyone done a medley of the popular Western games?
