Hey look! Another themed edition of Weekend Destructainment! For this edition, I'm just focusing on one game series, Fear Effect. It was a really great series originally on the PS1. It had a lot of gore, a great story line, and a very unique look to it.

The first video here is the for the second game, Fear Effect: Retro Helix. Wait, why would I start off with the second games video (which contains over 1 and a half hours worth of cinematics) first? Because this was actually the prequel to the first game. Also, random lesbian love scenes.

"originally" on the ps1? How can you say "originally" if it was never on any other system? The ps2 one didn't come out, so it doesn't count. "Originally" means what it "originated" on, but if it has only ever been on the system it originated for, you don't need to say where it originated from because it has never been on anything else and thus it does not need to be clarified where it started.

i definately liked these games more than any tomb raider or hitman from eidos...

i wish there could be another, also another parasite eve not on cell phones would rock

I loved this series for three reasons:
1) It was fun to play
2) It was the first series I ever beat
3) It introduced my young, fragile, Junior-high mind to the concept of lesbianism.
Anyone know why they canceled Inferno?

Man these games were/are so good. In fact for the last couple of weeks I've been working may way through Fear Effect 2, I managed to get it used for £1! The game still looks and sounds fucking great. The acting especially stands out, especially for an early game.

I love the mix of dark adult storylines, cyber punk, gothic horror, chinese mythology, Monkey Island puzzles, logic puzzles and Resident Evil.

Both games fucking kick ass and I would LOVE to see a next gen come back.

Having seen those trailers I'm now incredibly sad at the thought of the Fear Effect that never was. I love those games. Even the ultra-hard Dragons Lair type bits.

I hated Retro Helix (as fun as lesbians are, I prefer them when they aren't halfheartedly forced into a boring storyline just for the sake of arousal), but the original Fear Effect is one of my favorite PSOne games despite how goddamn awful the controls were.

Hmm I actually preferred Retro Helix over the first one... then Again I played it before I did the first =P Love the games though, very sexy and loved the style of gameplay and visuals.

You really should. They're damn cheap now. They ARE a little obscure/frustrating in the puzzle department at times (the 2nd less so).

I fall automatically in love with any game that features its attractive female lead uttering the line, "I'd only be able to hide one gun, if I walked in there naked." This is like a male's video game wet dream, only done well. Very nice. Very very very nice.

pylr3005: Man, that's so weird. Ron was having the same problem. All but one of the videos are Google Videos. I don't know why some people can't see them.
