[Weekend Destructainment is a collection of funny videos brought together from all across the Internet to bring you entertainment on these slow and boring weekends.]
Robot Chicken, music, ads and more await you in this edition of Weekend Destructainment. After the break, watch a Robot Chicken sketch on Castlevania. Then it's a secret endless level from the original Star Fox. Next up, it's a two part video of Dtoider NukaCola89 covering Mega Man X music on the drums.
Random Robot Intermission follows with an awesome music video to an awesome song. Then a AI plays through Mario like it's nothing. Two new GameTap ads from Mega64 follow that. Then it's a remix of the Rockman song by Hyadain. The Destructainment ends with a collection of old school Mega Man ads.

Random Robot Intermission: Birdy Nam Nam - "The Parachute Ending."
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

If I practiced for 10 years I might just be able to do what NukaCola89 did. And that Birdy Nam Nam video was pretty sick, need a very creative mind to think up that. I also have to say that Hyadain's Rockman Remix just about blew my face off
Haha, EnigmaticHarle, thanks for the comment. I've been drumming for roughly 7 years :P Mega64's new Gametap commercials are freaking hilarious, I love those guys. I wanna meet them so badly! I love how Jean Claude Van Damme voices Dracula in the Robot Chicken Castlevania parody. Also those Rockman commercials were awesome, I love how they used remixed stage music. I'd hate to imagine what a Mega Man 1 or 2 commercial would've been like in the US.
Jesus Christ NukaCola89, that was amazing. Skills and feeling. It aches me that nowadays it's so hard to find a drummer that knows how to do his own thing without sounding obnoxious and keeping things tied up together. Great piece, man. The fact that I loved every one of those songs and have made some arrangements with one or two in synths and guitars just makes me love it more. It still amazes me how great this soundtrack is.
Mega64 is so reliably funny it's almost ridiculous.
I felt most of the fills seemed in place, I do understand a few of the timing issues though, and will try to stomp those out for the next medley(s) I do. Also many of those might seem out of time when in fact that's how they were placed in the original songs. Also, blame my love for progressive rock and progressive metal >_>
Yeah, I hear ya. You know I'm only commenting as a fellow drummer cos criticism helps us get better! I think maybe you're just playing slightly faster than you've accurately trained your hands to go but I do love that you're covering video game songs.
Keep it up dude, I'm looking forward to the next one.
(Oh, and if you haven't already seen it, check out Advanced Techniques for the Modern Drummer... awesome for getting hands up to speed!)
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
2. Rockman commercials: anime scenes + enhanced game music = better than any US game commercial, ever.
Is that an ultra-rare helmetless Protoman!!!
I claim it as a potential avatar.

GAAAAH, cannot take...out of time....fills...and kick...
I agree. My eyes almost popped out of my head at that moment. O_O
@ Guncannon;
You'd better find a version that doesn't mess with the eyes. X_X
