Web site for NBA Ballers: Chosen One launches with six new screenshots

Web site for NBA Ballers: Chosen One launches with six new screenshots screenshot

Earlier, we reported on Midway’s NBA Ballers: Chosen One and how the game’s cover athlete, Dwight Howard, happened to win the All-Star Weekend Slam Dunk Contest. That story said that the game’s official Web site (http://www.nbaballers.com) launched on Valentine’s Day, but apparently, Midway has just added a bunch of content to it.

The updated site now features all kinds of videos, such as trailers and behind-the-scenes footage, in addition to full player ratings for the 81 NBA stars, past and present, who will be playable in the game. The roster encompasses modern-day superstars such as LeBron James and Kobe Bryant, as well as NBA greats like Larry Bird and Walt “Clyde” Frazier.

Finally, you can enter the “Search for the Next Chosen One” contest. I know that there are numerous Dtoiders with serious art skills, and if any of you are basketball fans as well, why not create an entry? The contest asks “inspiring graphic designers/artists” (I love when press releases make English usage mistakes) to submit a screenshot of a player for a chance at some cool prizes.

Check out the full press release after the jump, and the new screens below. NBA Ballers: Chosen One will be out on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on April 21st.

Six New Screens Available for Next Installment in the Popular NBA Ballers Franchise

Today Midway announced the launch of the NBA Ballers®: Chosen One™ website www.nbaballers.com. The website is jam packed with videos featuring cover athletes Dwight Howard and Al Horford, trailers and behind the scenes footage with Ballers talent Chuck D and Just Blaze. The website also showcases the newest screenshots and exact player likenesses from the more than 60 NBA players in the game. You can also enter "The Search for the Next Chosen One" contest. This contest gives inspiring graphic designers/artists a chance to create a screenshot of their favorite player for a chance at great prizes!

About NBA Ballers: Chosen One
NBA Ballers: Chosen One is a unique fantasy basketball entertainment experience featuring one-on-one and two-on-two action with the NBA's elite players. More than 65 of the NBA's top superstar athletes come to life as the NBA Ballers franchise continues its legacy as the graphical leader in the sports videogame industry. With an optimized next-gen graphics engine, NBA Ballers: Chosen One will continue to set the bar for graphic quality, with the most true-to-life athlete likenesses seen in a sports video game. NBA Ballers: Chosen One will put players up-close and into the action with new "action movie" style game cameras that highlight every move.

Create-a-Baller and take on the challenge of the epic "Chosen One Tournament", brought to you live from the most exotic courts around the world. As you progress through the game, earn the right to use an NBA star's "Shut 'Em Down" Super Move or take your Baller online to test your playing skills against others.

Chuck D, the famed front man and founder of Public Enemy, will serve as announcer and studio-host for the Chosen One tournament, and also provide play-by-play commentary throughout the game. Just Blaze, who has produced tracks for best-selling artists such as Jay-Z, Usher, Kanye West, Busta Rhymes, T.I. and many more, will produce the entire instrumental score for NBA Ballers: Chosen One.

Haha great Mike Tyson quote, if you intended it, and great article, NBA Ballers has long been on on par or better than the Street series, which has declined since Vol 2....

You know what I found odd?

How Howard just happened to be making a documentary before this event.

Do said skills pay the bills?

What a stupid name "Chosen One". Magic Johnson is the Chosen One and I think we all know why...

it's because he can dunk well.

Is this game supposed to be any good? Midway has had an "iffy" track record at best over the last few years.
