Web site Arcade Fly helps you find an arcade and games near you photo

I enjoy wasting a $20 bill in an arcade on a lazy afternoon. Sure, you could play the same games at home, but there's something about a noisy arcade that brings me back to my childhood, so I still seek them out.

Finding one has become easier with a site called Arcade Fly. Simply drop in an address into the search box and find arcades near you. It's not perfect yet, though. It listed a Mazzio's Pizza as an arcade near me. I've been there. It's a Hydro Thunder unit only, and it's not even the good "ass shaking" cabinet.

I like the Games feature of the page. Click on a game and find out which arcades have the title and how far away they are from you. Street Fighter 4 is in 26 arcades in this listing.  A couple of them are closer than I thought, too!

Apparently, there are four arcade cabinets of Street Fighter IV in the Los Angeles area. None are too near me, despite that...

I entered my address and it gave me this: 1 game. 5th Ave Billiards (The Pool Hall). 30 miles away. I've been there and is the arcade game they are talking about is picking up biker chicks with patriotic tattoos is considered an arcade game, then alright.

Man that's crazy because the one in the screen shot on Arcade Fly's site is like 10 minutes away from me and I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT!

It is certainly a magnificent tool for finding movie theaters and bowling alleys. Also came up with a high school that has a DDR machine. With the local Asian population, that is not a surprise.

Oh and it sucks seeing all the local pizza places with crappy games, then seeing Arcade UFO up in Austin with SF IV and Tekken 6 and MvC 2

@ Y0j1mb0,

Sounds like an awesome place to hold your NARP! Kinda like Chuck E Cheese, but with more knife fights and better food.

Think I'll give that a miss (I know of nearer arcades)!

looks like this thing needs a bit of work. seeing all the arcades close to me only have 1 game (being either DDR or ITG) and completely ignored the arcade that's closest to me. But maybe cause they didn't have a DDR or ITG machine. lol

ATM, phail. with work or the actual help of local members, win.

*Types in a UK city*

*Is directed to two American arcades, some 3900 miles away*

So much for that.

The nearest arcade it shows is the one that is half weapons store/half arcade. It also has Jack Chick tracts for tickets instead of hardened tootsie rolls.

I'm trying to decide if all of that is really awesome or if I should run away screaming (It's in a mall too! Wut.)

Wow, thanks for the writeup! We're just getting started, but think with help from the community it could really be a great resource.

As for why there are so many music games in there -- I used to run a DDR site, so I imported the locations from there for this. So most arcades outside of where I live (Orlando) still have to be filled in by locals.

It's open to edit though! Anyone who registers can go in and claim an arcade and edit the games listed at it. Arcades can also be added by members and they'll be able to modify the games at it right away.

We'll probably work on importing some locations from other countries this week too, so you won't be left out for too long.

We have a long ways to go, but looking for help -- especially just entering in locations you know of! Even if it's just one location, it'll really help. If you're bored talk to see how you could help, or have some suggestions, feel free to IM me on AIM: Dyogenez. :)
