We want YOU...to tell us about your Vita experiences photo

We've already given you a ton of Playstation Vita coverage, but now we want to know what you think. Resident Community Manager Mr. Andy Dixon has just created a forum post hell-bent on finding out what you think of the Vita so far -- specifically, if you've had any luck playing or transferring your PSP games onto the unit. For instance, I've found that a number of PSP games can't be downloaded directly from the store, but they can be transferred through the CMA [Content Manager Assistant] or through the Playstation 3's interface.

What we really want is for people to give us any impressions, tips, or tricks they've encountered with their Vita on the forums, or here if you're so inclined. Was it worth the $250-$300 just to play old PSP games? Was it?! Let us know!

Didn't realise you couldn't play PS1 games yet, was looking forward to playing through the FFs again...

I still have my psp for psp games. But I will say this, the vita feels fucking fantastic in my hands, and love the flow of the UI.

lol no I'm not registering for the forums

I'm really loving my Vita. It's a very slick system with great features.

First, a point: contrary to Destructoid's reports, you can charge your Vita while it's on. If you're charging via USB, it for some reason doesn't display the indication that it's charging, but it definitely happens.

I have one gripe so far, and it's that I'm forced to use the touch screen when using the on-screen keyboard. I think it's rubbish (big fingers, and it seems super sensitive) and it's especially frustrating because my PSN password (which is requested for EVERY Store purchase) is deliberately complex. I wish I could use the D-pad/Left stick and the face buttons - the keyboard interface inside the Netflix app, which is different from the Vita's native keyboard interface, allows this. So what gives?

Also, for those of you who haven't discovered it yet, if you press the PS button and the Start button at the same time, you take a screenshot at ALMOST any time - only exception I've encountered is during Remote Play.

Speaking of Remote Play, I was playing Grandia (a PS1 game residing on my PS3) on my Vita while laying in bed, which is in a room separate from the PS3. That is fucking cool.

I'm lovin' it so far. The only problems I have with it is the Sony-made software. The web browser is slow as hell(plus you can't open it during a game) and the music application can't even make a damn playlist.

It is currently my Dynasty Warriors NEXT machine, and since I can't move my Dissidia 012 and Persona games to it without paying full prize again it left a bad taste in my mouth...yeah,I'm not as in love with it as I wish I was, specially since I paid the "impatient ass import tax". Oh well, when Persona 4:The Golden comes out I will inject it into my blood stream.

When I was laying down in bed, voice chatting with a pal, while we were playing an amazing combat round of WipEout 2048....that's when I realized this is a good thing. I was having a ton of fun.

I am absolutely loving it!
Well worth the price, ive already bought 4 games for it (more than I have any launch).

Just a great launch and machine all around.
Can't wait to see what the future holds for this system.

I'm debating spending $200 more on this system. I wish all my ps3 games were on it now, I don't even want a console anymore.

I picked up the first edition bundle, not sure if it was the best choice but my spending finger started inching... On my 4gig card I've fit Lumines, Super Stardust Delta, Wipeout 2048, Final Fantasy Tactics (psp), and a few demos.

My overall experience is pretty good. I think the UI is ugly, but it's smart and works very well. I love the effectiveness of the multitasking, although it could go further. In game soundtracks are great for portable games. Lumines/Wipeout are freaking great.

I downloaded Lumines, Wipeout, and FFT all on my ps3 and transferred them over to the psvita pretty quickly. I've also downloaded Patapon 2, which also works fine. Overall im impressed, no regrets so far. Everything is easy to use.

I really want to grab one, but I'm hoping for a quick price drop like the 3DS got.

Also, let's play "Ignore Every Useless Word that comes Out of MidView's Mouth." I think I'll love that game.

I got one in combination with a 16GB memory card, Everybody's Golf and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom.

Soon after, I bought Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, Mega Man Maverick Hunter X, Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX and Z.H.P.

Needless to say, I'm definitely enjoying this handheld and will most likely spend way more time on it than I have so far on my PS3 and 360 combined. The UI, albeit touch-screen only, is very easy to navigate and it's use is very intuitive.

Biggest gripe so far is that I can't remove some of the 'apps' that it comes with. Looking at you 'Welcome Park'.

this may be the best damn handheld i've ever owned. I have a psp, 3ds, iphone and ipad and none of them can touch it's controls. Playing syphon filter and nova with dual analog is awesome. Also ninja gaiden is amazing on it. It makes me pissed that nintendo didn't natively include a second slider on the 3ds.

Well, I went and picked one up on my lunch hour today. Got in my car and looked at it for like 3 minutes, but then I had to go back to work. Stopped at burrito place for lunch and looked at it a bit more when I was in the drive-through. I can definitely say that it is shiny and the buttons/analog sticks feel nice. But other than that my experience with the Vita so far has been time limits and delicious burrito.

PS: And it WAS a delicious burrito.

I'm loving it so far. hoping Sony follows through with making the PSP titles and Minis sitting on my PS3 compatible sooner than later. Near is actually really cool, it makes me feel connected to other gamers in a way I wasn't expecting on a handheld. And cross-play with PS3 users is flawless and glorious.

Purchased the Vita from Target with a free 4Gb mem. I have a 3DS and the Vita is light years ahead of the 3DS. Nintendo really F up and the 3DS seems like a joke. The only Nintendo hardware that I did not purchased was the N64 and the Gamecube before you start flaming. I'm really pleased with the Vita. My only complain is that the games are expensive (just like the 3ds games) and the digital prizing model is a joke. Nintendo and Sony have a lot to learn from Apple prizing model. I will be picking up a few Vita games from craiglist in a few weeks:)

it's quite different from what I expected... I was pretty sure to like PS Vita but currently I'm not convinced.

it's bigger and heavier than expected, but the screen is really nice.

I've big hands so it's not optimal to reach the buttons/sticks and hold it.

I always thought the backside is "bumpy", but it's "flat". the back-hand touch field sounds intriguing but I've no idea what to do with it.

the menu is BUTT UGLY, menu music horrible boring too (can be switched off). otherwise I'm happy that I found all settings without thinking (don't make me think is always GOOD design)

the form factor is "too big" to simply take it with you in your pocket.

memory cards are TEH TINY. really really neeed to use your fingernails to open the tiny slot cover and insert the card. (cards are EXPENSIVE!)

first game rayman origins OK BABY, grafix thru the roof. nice, good contrast, great color 5 inch loveable. best feature yet.

Uncharted didn't impress me graphically at first glance, but then OH BOY IT'S NICE.

wifi good, SEN shop access was fast and streamlined, dowload speedz very good.

Touch Screen very strange, not as smooth as Apple or Samsung surfaces... it feels "wrong" somehow.

overall first impressions after two days with my Vita... "good but not great".

I'm simply waiting, I have a feeling a price drop is out of the question for sony (I don't think they can afford one), but I'll get one when some rpgs start dropping, I really don't plan on playing shooters on my handhelds (they're are exceptions like RE) so a second analog isn't what makes me want one, but it looks like a kickass handheld so I'll get one sooner or later.

I played around with one and felt somewhat mixed but overall kind of liked it. The joysticks felt weird, I had a hard time getting used to them and the back touch pad is deal-breaker bad as it's almost impossible for me not to constantly touch the thing on accident. On the other hand, the user interface is pretty well done and the screen is gorgeous. Super light-weight too. Can't say it makes me very insecure about my 3DS, but after it gets some killer 3rd party support I could see myself buying one. Might need a redesign, though.

I love the customized option ! You can change the background ANDDDDDD THE LOCK SCREEN ( click a image, go to option then click " set as lockscreen".

For the game, i stillllllll play more my 3DS, due to Tales of Abyss. But my vita is my #1 gaming in the bed and in-house.

Hot shot golf got a LOT of love, like BLOB LOVEEEE !!! Lumines too. Raymans is sooo freaking good.

But a lot of these games are "console experience" so you need time to play it. It's not very "quick play during the bus" style.

Maybe i'm too scare to play my Vita in the bus lol. But my 3ds is still the #1 "on the go". It look more robust and easy to carry in your pocket.

BUT I LOOOOOOOOOOVE LISTEN TO MY MUSIC ANYTIME !!!!!!

Love the movie, even if you need to convert it to MP4. ( Handbrake is a nice program ).

Near is nice AND freak. It's fun to see how your area is "gamer". But someone add me, and i was weird to know he is near to me lol. But it's a nice feature.

now the "cons"

WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO USE BUTTON FOR HOME SCREEN !!!. I hate to make my PS vita dirty just for clickin a game...

Game that force the "PS vita touch screen" is not very nice. But some game do it RIGHT ( like FIFA, uncharted sniper mode is nice, Blob ).

Memory card... i got the 32gb and i'm starting to be squeeze already... But i put in like 10 movie and 3gbs of music lol. But still with the price it's not nice...

In resume, i love it to date. My 3ds got more "love" a bit due to some games. But my PS vita got longer gaming sessions. My PS vita is just to precious to use it outside. ( i play it a bit at school, but not much )

1. The "free service" is 250mb, aka diddly-squat, after buying an extra month of service elsewhere. Gee, thanks.
2. AT@T signup bugged out and wouldn't let me finish.
3. Pressing the "close" button after step 2 resulted in a black screen and a forced restart.

...Any questions?

Fairly slick machine but it's black screened on me twice the first day. Today I got a strange blinking blue light that recquired me to hold the power button for 30 seconds to start it in debug mode to reset it.

I downloaded Persona 3 via MediaGo as I dont have wireless connection in my uni halls (in the description it said it was compatible with the Vita)
However it turns out you cannot transfer games bought from mediago to your vita; I need to wait a month to get home then re download Persona 3
Other than that its okay, hard to enjoy it too much with one game. Playing Uncharted, I dont think it has the capability to make a ps3 sized game as boasted, but its still a good system

I have the first editiom bundle and I have enjoyed my Vita ever since, with every new app and game released I get more in love with it. I haven't experience any problems at all. Yesterday I played Unit 13 demo and wow, it is awesome how the Vita manage shooting games. There is one thing I have notice since I have my Vita... 1) I own a Vita. I have Lumines, Michael Jackson, Uncharted, Rayman, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma+ - I love it!

2) The "PSP only" part was a clear joke! In particular we wanted to see people's thoughts on the Vita's PSP emulation/transfer process - hence the PSP oriented spin.
