We need psychic powers to figure out Crytek's Warface trademark photo

Last week, Crytek filed a trademark registration for “Warface.” They also filed this image of an eye. While the connection of an eye to a face is clear, I'm unsure how “war” fits into the trademark puzzle. I have two ideas: (1) All the soldiers in Warface are cyclopean thugs. Or (2) the game revolves around a futuristic gypsy army with advanced knowledge of battle conditions made possible through psychic powers.

It’ll be forever before we know for sure, but there’s a chance that Warface is Cytek’s console title. The recent addition of Free Radical (Crytek UK) certainly gives them the experience and possibly the motivation to finally pull out of the PC market.

Trademark registrations are slippery things. What do you guys think Warface is?

You mean expand to the console market. Not pull out of the PC market.
Crytek are clearly too graphics obsessed to work solely on the lesser platforms.

@Jetsetlemming: They blamed Crysis' sales on piracy, whined about it incessantly, and then declared they wouldn't be working for the PC anymore.

@Jet, Crytek have always pushed the boundries of what's possible on modern hardware, you can't do that on a Console (Disclaimer: not a slight against consoles)

@Grim, I think they said the Crysis titles would be their last PC titles, we know there is at least a Crysis 2 in the works.

They said they're not being PC exclusive anymore. They're expanding. They have never said they're leaving PC behind. Phazon that's the point I was making- Crytek's primary goal behind every game they make is to make it the absolute most cutting edge, graphically. That means working on PC. Maybe when the Xbox 720 has 8GB of RAM and a 2GB DX12 graphics card they could jump ship without compromising that ideal, but no now, when the absolute best console only has 512MB of shared system memory and a DX9 graphics processor.

They specified they bought Free Radical specifically for making console versions. Free Radical is now one Crytek studio of five. What's the other four supposed to do if they aren't making the PC version?

I think the only significance the icon has is that it is the symbol of a party used in the game. This party may be a government group that is kept secret, an evil government that you must destroy, or something else along those lines. It may not be much of a clue to the game's subject matter at all other than the fact that it is a symbol present in the game.
