While it's no Watchmen iPhone MMO, Xbox LIVE Arcade is getting a Watchmen-based title this week to coincide with the film's theater debut on Friday. Watchmen: The End is Nigh, as it's called, will go for a whopping 1600 Microsoft Points ($20).
Players take the role of either Rorschach or Nite Owl and brawl with up to 20 characters on-screen at once, although 90% of the enemies will likely be the same exact character model with a different colored outfit as per the beat-'em-up standard.
Perhaps I'm not the target audience for The End is Nigh -- I couldn't even finish the graphic novel for God's sake -- but I like my beat-'em-ups to be a little more ... absurd.
Whether that means babies in mechs, anthropomorphic animals, or midgets, I don't really care. But if you're going to have me fighting hundreds of baddies, at least make them more ridiculous than "criminals," please.

"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
And this is coming from someone who just recently read it. Amazing stuff and I'm as jaded as they come.
Still, for $20, I would expect better than this. I only paid $15 for Castle Crashers, and even though it took months to make it work correctly, it was still a better investment of money and time for a Brawling title.
Believe me, I'm going to finish it by Friday. And it's not as if I didn't like what I have read (far from it) -- it's just that I am horrible about finishing books, graphic novels, and anything of that nature.
You better!
this game wont be good will it?
so excited for the movie, regardless of Snyder's edits. Movie will be fantastic.
Looks like I won't be considering the purchase of ANYTHING anymore unless it's on a weekly sale.
