Live action trailers come in two varieties -- amazing and embarrassing. I can safely say that this beautifully classy one for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim does not fall in the latter category.
Watch it, get pumped up, and start to claw at your face in anticipation of 11/11/11. I know that's what I'm currently doing.

I'm probably running towards a wall here, but I don't see how this trailer should amaze me.
People complain about pre-rendered game trailers, instead of using gameplay footage. Yet, here we are presented with live-action footage which is an even less accurate representation of the product, and everyone applauds it.
I get that these trailers sell you the setting and fantasy, but had this clip not had anything to do with Skyrim, it would've gotten less attention than the average lolcat.
It's only a video clip with a budget, with the skyrim logo slapped on top. The game will be amazing, but I just don't see a reason to get more excited from this video than any other trailer.

Except there's a difference between "this is real people" and "we made these to look like real people, but they look more real than normal because this isn't the in-game engine"
@strandil
How dosnt this have anything to do with skyrim? Dragons in skyrim do indeed attack settlements. Also you seen the dragonborn in the clip.. This trailer is prolly jus stating that their are dragons n skyrim, that's how I would have taken it if Ididn't already know. And no I'm not trolling I'm just stating my option and asking a few simple questions
@CrimsonNinja6- I felt that too. Very heavily. It's good for me due to the fact I'm making a GoT fan project in Skyrim, but it was almost a bit distracting with that.
I thought it was rather nice. Originally I actually thought it was a fan trailer and I was flipping the fuck out, but then I realized it was Bethesda made. Still pretty nice. Had great atmosphere.
Everybody is complaining about how this trailer is bad because it shows nothing from the real game, but it's just hype. If you're really excited for skyrim you know how good the games looks and it's high expectations. This is just to get you pumped up.
P.S. I bet that bucket at 00:24 was full of grease or oil or something.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Guess thats why it has a 'Use of alcohol' at the beginning.

Soft, pathetic and mentally damaged kids love their shit brainless and easy. Where's my welfare check and hop culture??? DERRRRRRRR.
Video games are pretty brainless in general. Some are more involved than others, but it's still a video game. I think you're being a little unfair.
And yeah! Dragons can attack towns. This trailer is awesome!! I hope they come out with an extended edition, I really like the atmosphere.

Now where is my Skyrim movie?
That was surprisingly good though, sadly my chances of buying this game still border at 0%.

Dark Souls and Skyrim are completely different games, oh wait, that's an obvious.
To people complaining that it isn't gameplay, you should look up the previous trailer spot, it was all in-engine and hud-less gameplay.
