The new trailer for Lost Planet 2 has, unsurprisingly, found its way from Xbox Live to Youtube and we have, even less surprisingly, decided to repost it for your viewing convenience. Here you'll see all the gameplay details we discussed this morning, including jungle environments, squad-based play and portable cover systems.
It's looking really good already, and it would certainly appear that co-op play is now a necessity. The huge creature shown toward the end looks like it needs more than one person to deal with, so it'll be interesting to see if there's a single-player campaign at all.
Lost Planet 2 is threatening to be quite exciting, so here's hoping we can get our hands on some playtime soon.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. I really liked the first Lost Planet. This makes me happy.
So awesome.
Three Seater Mechs are a sexy idea.
I feel compelled to really try and finish the first one.
Jungle/Desert is the new Hoth Level. If I see Capcom use another lush jungle setting this year, I'm calling one trick pony.
Also, he moves away from the mic to breath.
Yeah that was fkin' sweet!
Gears with Mechs and huge bosses? Sure.
Also, Capcom has no business having such a huge stable/roster of new and old IPs that are this amazing.
Anyway, looks good, but I do have one concern. Maybe it's because I didn't play the first game, but how did the planet thaw and grow a lush jungle in only 10 years? That makes no sense at all.
I've loved Lost Planet ever since it came out. Remains one of my all time favorite games, even with it's hideous voice acting, stupid plot and idiotic character design. The game is oodles of fun to play, and that's what matters.
- Giant customizable mechs than can fly/hover
- Epic tundras
- Grappling hook
- Enormous boss battles
- Lots of different giant alien bug fucks with weak-points you could exploit (blowing off their legs, or their tail that they use to attack you)
This has now turned in to my most anticipated title of the year.
