Nexy-poo broke the news moments ago that Sonic will be making it into the Brawl. Well the DOJO just had a triple update for Wednesday showing video and pictures of Sonic in action.  

Until we get the embed codes from GameTrailers, you can check out the video of Sonic destroying Mario, Bowser and other notable Nintendo characters at the DOJO. A second video was also released today from the Nintendo Conference. It's just a quick montage of a lot of the things the DOJO has been updating with in the last couple of months.

So Sonic in Brawl ... who else had to change their pants? The lines at E For All are going to be much longer now.

"sonics the name, speeds my game" has to be about the most retarded thing I've ever heard. That phrase just killed off any hope I have left for the sonic series.

This should be good though.

Any guesses on other non-ninty charachters.
My bets on a viewtifull joe assist trophy that speeds up/slows down the battle.

I don't know what's stranger: that Sonic is in this game, or that Sonic and Snake are now in the same game. This is almost as strange as Winnie the Pooh and Sephiroth being in the same game, or Snake and Optimus Prime being in the same game .

I really, really, really thought I was going to hate it if Sonic was included in Brawl. But now I find myself replaying the video to hear Sonic voice and music again. I hope a lot of the Sonic music from Sonic Rush and Sonic Adventure makes it into the game, because I have always loved the cheesy music that is used throughout the series.

Who is going to E for All just to play this?

As long as his extra jump maneuver involves Tails, I'm sold.

Also, time to announce Mega Man.

Also, Snake may be a Sony fanboy's dream, but Sony doesn't own Konami, hence their character is in the game. I doubt Chief will make an appearance, although now that Bungie has officially confirmed its split from Microsoft...

I JUST looked at the update on the Brawl website and I literally had a shiver down my spine when I saw the words 'Sonic' and then saw his picture. I was NOT expecting them to reveal that so soon. And it just didn't seem real for some reason. This update has truly made my day. Hell, it's made my whole MONTH. Super Sonic = Final smash FTW!

Also, I think his up B might be the bumper from the Sonic games (Tails would be more awesome IMO). Either that or there were hints at the Sonic level (Green Hill Zone FTW!!)

It's so surreal to see Sonic just roll onto screen and lay out Mario.

Gotta be honest when I read it I thought it was a joke. When I watched the video I thought it was a joke. Damn, Shiggy himself could walk up to me, hand me $100 and assure me Sonic's in it and I wont believe him. But this is AMAZING.

But, on the other hand...how AMAZING would it have been had Nintendo not revealed any new characters beforehand and you just found them and they were a complete surprise to you when you unlocked them.

BADASS. But please no shitty Sonic VA and no horrible rock music. A remixed Sonic 1-3 soundtrack would be good and please someone vill Sonic's VA his voice just PISSES ME OFF. Still good news :-)

I love how they have all the classic noises in it. EPIC WIN!
Also, when he gets too close to the edge he balances like he used to in the original Sonic the Hedgehog.

If Viewtiful Joe makes it in the game in any form, this will be the best video game ever made, IMO. The character list for this game is going to be insane too. Already there's 22 characters confirmed, while Melee had 25. I'm hoping for 35 characters this time.

I kinda think Nintendo ruined the Smash series introducing other mascots. It's like giving a crack addict just enough crack to get him buzzed. He's just going to ask for more.

For all those who'd prefer remixes to the music from the old school Sonic games rather than the heavy rock stuff from Sonic CD/Sonic Adventure onward: I totally agree. While having Sonic Boom or Open Your Heart or something like that would still be cool, a Smash Bros. style remix of, say, Green Hill or Emerald Hill zones, among others, would be so much more badass.
