Watch out for the nasty glitch in Fable II, it could break your game photo

Several of us at Destructoid have been messing around in the magical world of Fable II as of late and we’ve been experiencing a few bugs here and there. But according to a report from X3F, there is a bigger, nastier bug than merely freezing when initiating a flourish against a wall. This bug could force you to have to restart your game completely.

The bug revolves around a main story quest called “Monk’s Quest,” where players are sent to the Temple of Light to take care of a task for the Abbot. If players leave the region while the Abbot is talking about the finer points of the task, then they will be unable to complete the quest. Considering that this is a main story quest, this is a very bad thing.

Lionhead is aware of the problem and has advised players to finish the conversation before heading back out into the wilderness. They are also currently working on a fix, but be careful in the meantime.

I know some people could care less about the stories in games but honestly, that's what you get for not not listening to instructions fully.

Also if your not buying a game like Fable 2 for the story/saga then what the hell are you doing?

Can we somehow turn this into yet another opportunity to make fun of Peter Molyneux? Any takers?

This only happens if you cheated in the pub games.

It's not a glitch it's a lesson. Molyneux is punishing those who are too impatient to soak in the plot.

I'll be sure to relay this news to my little bro,who is fairly impatient.I,for one, didn't spend $60 to skip half the game by not taking in everything possible, that it offers.

Oh damn. I haven't had this happen to me yet (Just rescued the second hero) but I'll be a bit more careful from now on to make sure I listen to everything before wandering off.

lol owned for being rude to the Abbot.

For what its worth, this is one of those one's I'd be kinda embarrassed about missing as a QA guy. But, sometimes you really can't catch them all. Considerin gall the cool things that are working, I'm personally not so peeved about this one.

A patch would be cool, but considering all that needs to be done is to just sit there and listen, its not the most unavoidable thing.

Yeesh, I really come off as a Molyneux/Lionhead fanboy . . .

I wouldn't mind listening to all the conversations if:

a) People's accents weren't annoying as shit.

b) They actually spoke in a something-close-to-expedient manner.

c) The story wasn't boring or uninspired as fuck.

I dislike how long it takes to perform simple functions, as in: digging for treasure, opening a chest, turning your character around, talking to NPCs (why the fuck does it take an average of four button presses to initiate a conversation?), et cetera.

The combat is fun, but right now (for me, obviously) that is one of the only things it has going for it.
