Well poo. Warriors Orochi Z, the PS3 repackacing of Warriors Orochi and WO2 has been canceled for North America. Still available for Japanese fans, the game included new bonus content such as extra characters. It was originally scheduled to release in the West as Warriors Orochi: The Collective, but Koei has since decided to scrap it.
It's very rare that Koei doesn't want to bring a Warriors title to the West, so it's a strange bit of news indeed. Still, with Warriors Orochi 2 already heading for the PSP, perhaps Koei realized that there is such a thing as market saturating and it may be wise to hold off. Either that or it's Swine Flu.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
This isn't really hurting anyone. The only "possible" drawback would be the semi in battle missions. But it's not like that's needed to play the game. Everything else is pretty simple.
press X, run around then press X again and again and again....
Listen to some poor sap making scale wage read horrendous dialouge
Press X a few more times
Win
Pretty much the entire experience right there, seriously though how many gamer lobotomies have taken place in the world for people to still find this series fun? How many times can you pay good cash for the same freakin game over and over? Ah well I can't blame Koei, give the retards what they want and they shall bestow many riches upon to Koei.
@ Omikron: That's why it's good. It's mindless pap, you always know what you're getting and it never disappoints (well, notbeing released in the west aside...). People played for years on systems that only had two action buttons and a D-pad - what's wrong with simplicity? What other game titles let you kill thousands of people with a flute on the back of a war elephant? The Warriors games are pure, simple fun.
Fuuuuuuuuuuck this was one of the top 5 games I wanted for PS3 =<.
"Warriors Orochi Z" is anyway Crap, garbage and rubbish!
The new announced KOEI games "Warriors Legends of Troy" and "Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll" are much better than "Warriors Orochi Z" !
If it doesn't get published here, it will at least help me decide between it and Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires.
