Warner Bros. Entertainment has today announced DC Entertainment, a brand new company formed to improve the exposure of DC Comics properties with more movies, videogames and other forms of entertainment. The move follows the critical and commercial success of Batman: Arkham Asylum, so it's no surprise that WB wants to keep up the momentum.
"DC Entertainment will be charged with strategically integrating the DC Comics business, brand and characters deeply into Warner Bros. Entertainment and all its content and distribution businesses," declares the company.
WB's new divisision will be led by Diane Nelson, who previously had been responsible for managing the Harry Potter franchise, something she will continue to do. She also acted as president of Warner Premiere, a smaller studio that produces direct-to-DVD movies and digital content.
Looks like you can expect to see a sequel to Arkham Asylum sooner rather than later, not to mention plenty more DC videogames. Which DC hero would you like to see get the "actually not crap" videogame treatment next?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I'm not a comic book fan at all, but because I have watched the superman films since I was a child, I'd actually like a decent Superman game. All the games so far have been terrible.
Though I mustn't be negative as I would like to see more superhero video games.
Put some serious marketing behind Brue Timm's upcoming film Batman/Superman Public Enemies. His movies are awesome! They should be megahits.
Not superhero based, but you know what I'd love to see if it had a combat system anything like Arkham Asylum? Another Bruce Lee game.
Lets face it, few superhero games are going to get better than Batman AA, due to most of them having bizarre powers. Most of them will end up as glorified beat em ups and not much more. Therefore, its smart for Square/DC to build on the Batman universe, with a sequel.
You shitting me? He'll be the first to get a rebranding. God dammit I hate that man.
Now 100 Bullets would be cool. In fact they had a 100 Bullets game with art and demos and everything that got canned. I wish somebody would leak that demo just so someone else can take it, build on it, and put it on PC.
Vertigo titles are ripe for game deals though.
I'd also love a good Iron Man game, but that's Marvel.
or Lobo
I want a game where I can play as Superman and feel like goddamn Superman just like Arkham Asylum feels like I'm Batman.
