Warhammer fans might be knee deep in Space Marine right now, but there's another upcoming title on the horizon coming from the tabletop world of Games Workshop. Warhammer Online: Wrath of Heroesis coming to PC by way of BioWare and Electronic Arts. Based on the 2008 MMO Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, this follow-up is an 18 player team-based PvP title. Oh and did I mention it's free?
Wrath of Heroes is set to join EA's growing catalog of titles you can "Play4Free" sometime later this year. In the mean time we have some video, and there are screens in the gallery below. It's great to see Warhammer taking off as a franchise and I for one am ready to take a stab at anything that brings Games Workshop's tabletop games to life.
I got into beta just before last weekend's beta test and I have to say, I was quite impressed. I played WAR for almost two years and stopped due to it slowly dying, so it's nice to see them reviving the Instanced PvP and making it into a free game. Especially considering the PvP was the only thing that stood out in that game, imo.
I just want them to bring out the Squid Herder hero so I can relive my old WAR days!
