Eugen Systems is back with Wargame: AirLand Battle, a follow-up to its real-time strategy game European Escalation. This sequel retains the 1975-85 Cold War setting, in addition to the eight nations featured by its predecessor. Four new ones have been added, which brings the vehicle/unit count up to a whopping 750+. Improvements to the IRISZOOM Engine, a new Urban Combat Interface for battles within cities, and an upgraded Deck system for army customizing in single- and multiplayer are being promised. AirLand Battle isn't due out until next year, but it will be present at gamescom; look for Focus Home Interactive in Hall 4.2, Stand I-050a or Koch Media in Hall 7.1, stand B051 - B041. Did you know? Game looks gorgeous, though. And that's an insane amount of content! The first game was great, though the deck system somewhat confused me as to how to do it "right".
