WAR launches Dwarf New Year event, players encouraged to find beer photo

Not to be left out of the holiday cheer, Warhammer Online is launching its own celebration of the New Year. The event, aptly called the Dwarf New Year Celebration, has already started and appears to be something special. Essentially, it’s a new quest line that will take players from pub to pub in search of all things dwarf – beer, monsters, and explosions.

The event is running until January 5 and promises plenty to do for both the Order and Destruction. The big grab is a quest that will take players on search of a Golden Stein. Apparently, it does something special. What most will be more interested in is the loot that can be earned in the process. Players can expect to earn the title, “The Drunkard,” a unique Trophy, or an item called the Last Call Keg, which automatically returns players to the City Pub.

Of course, there’s plenty more than just that. Rare drops, new weapons, new monsters, and fireworks have all been promised. I can’t say that I’ve been able to check out WAR as much as I have wanted to, but it seems like this is a pretty hip celebration. Are any of you going to be participating?

God I love Warhammer. I've been addicted to it for quite some time now. With a rank 33 Ironbreaker and a 16 Knight of the Blazing Sun, I do my best to take it to Destruction whether it be by axe or sword.

My server does pretty well in scenarios thankfully, but oRVR zones were death for me last night. Destruction had about 3 warbands in Tier 2. Both for the special event mobs as well as PVP. They were just dominating everything where as before this new event, we were holding our own for once.

It goes back and forth on our server a lot it seems. T4 is constant push and pull struggle. Its a tough fight against the numbers but with scenarios and public quests, there is always something fun to do even if you pick to play as the outnumbered and under appreciated Order.

The rewards for this live event aren't the best, but its still fun to loot beer off of new mobs and run around the capital city from bar to bar drinking kegs and lighting off rare dropped fireworks.

Drinking and explosives... a dwarfs two favorite things next to stomping on greenskins. ^_^
