Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

Wanted, the Warner Bros. Interactive published game based on the movie (based on a comic) that was quietly announced at this year's E3 now has a new name: Wanted: Weapons of Fates.

So maybe the name is a bit silly sounding. OK, a lot silly sounding. But I'm staying positive about the Wanted game, even though it's a licensed title, twice removed. It's being developed by the Swedish game house, GRIN, the same folks responsible for Bionic Commando Rearmed and the upcoming Bionic Commando next-gen title.

And what does that mean? Well, Rearmed turned out pretty well. And I've liked what I've seen and played of the next-gen Bionic Commando title. Plus, these are weapons of fate we're talking about here, and you don't -- under any circumstances -- mess with fate. Or its weapons.

Wanted: Weapons of Fate is being developed for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Wikipedia says it's coming out this December, but my money is on seeing it in 2009.

Those environments sure are intricate to the game, eh?

Boxes = Check.
Plain floors = Check.
Characters that look like Counter Strike rejects = Check.
Nothing about it that looks remotely interesting = Check.

So is the new name Weapons of Fate or Weapons of Fates? :)
Because the latter would be even more ridiculously lame.

As long as the Loom of Fate makes a cameo, I'll be on it.

Let's hope this game ends up being a better success than Manos: Hands of Fate...

Since the white washed movie sucked ass, this game will undoubtedly be just as bad.

Brown game is brown.

The movie was enjoyable, but from what I hear of the source material, the comic (with supervillains instead of assassins) sounds like a much more colorful world.

At least they had sense enough to not try to rush the game to coincide with the movie's release. Maybe it'll suck less then most licensed games.
