Want to see some Road Rash HD? Check it out!

9:40 AM on 10.08.2009

EA Warrington's new Road Rash game is in the works, and some previsualization test footage has been uncovered. This is just rough conceptual stuff at the moment, but even the bare-bones video you see here is looking incredibly promising.

It looks like the violence that made Road Rash is a classic is going to be a rightfully important part of this current-gen iteration. As you can see in the video, players can grab opponents and attempt to pull them off the bike. In the video, two players struggle on their bikes while narrowly avoiding an oncoming car. I can only imagine how awesome that will look when the car has colors and textures and ... well ... looks more like car.

It also seems as if successfully dragging an enemy off his ride will result in a boost, and you can also pull signs from the side of the road to use as a weapon. Looks really awesome as a concept, so this is one game I'm definitely going to pay more attention to.

What do you think? Check out the video, bear in mind it is test footage, and let us know how it looks to you.

[Update: I'm being told this game may actually have been canceled. Now I feel like I was given a Christmas gift, had it taken away, and was then punched in the bollocks.]

While watching this trailer for THUMPER, a self-described rhythm violence game from current Harmonix artist Brian Gibson and former lead programmer Marc Flury, I didn't want to blink. I also let out a confused "what?" follow...more

Race through ten Chipzel songs on a laser track in Spectra

"F-Zero meets Audiosurf" brings some vivid imagery to mind, but after watching the above trailer, I'm not sure I agree with that tagline for the indie racer Spectra. Sure, it's set to some bumpin' Chipzel tracks, but it look...more

Upcoming Driveclub car will peel your face off

To tease one of the upcoming cars arriving for Driveclub this month, the developers decided to give us a sneak peak via a video showing off the terrifying speed the unnamed four-wheeled machine can do -- at least 242 mph. You got what it takes to hit that kind of speed and not end up a stain on the road? We'll have to see in the coming weeks.  more
