Want more Mass Effect DLC? Bioware just might oblige photo

More Mass Effect DLC, you say? While it isn't a confirmed fact just get, MTV Multiplayer gleaned some wishy-washy details about what could be next for the epic sci-fi adventure from Bioware co-founder Greg Zeschuk. From their interview:

Multiplayer: What can we talk about regarding “Mass Effect”?

Greg Zeschuk, Co-Founder of BioWare
: Well we said it was a trilogy so there’s some stuff happening. We’re also looking at some other post-release content. We’re working away. BioWare’s pretty busy these days.

Multiplayer: We got our first DLC for the 360. People can expect there may be some more more coming?

Zeschuk: We’re talking about that. You know how we are. We’re always very circumspect until we can go “Aha! There it is!” With everything we build now, we want to have this long-term relationship with the customer and always have something for them to try. So we’re definitely looking at that for “Mass Effect.”

It recently occured to me while dicking around with DLC for a game that will remain unnamed here that not all content really provides a new experience for the consumer, but only rehashes the original game from a slightly different slant. Bring Down The Sky didn't seem to suffer from this syndrome, but I'm always sketchy about DLC because I'm a cynical bastard. Would you buy a second expansion if it because available?

If the DLC makes the game less shit.

And if the DLC somehow magically unsells my copy of Mass Effect. because I sold it when I beat it.
Cause it was a load of poop.

Can we take from this that the sequel will not be called Mass Effect?

considering how inadequate the first DLC was, hell no. i enjoyed it, especially how it rewarded you upon completion, but it wasn't worth the money.

if the next DLC for Mass Effect is of the same "new planet to explore" format, then it'll have to include at least 3 at the same price. And at least one of the missions should push the story forward, rather than being completely lateral. otherwise, it just comes off as pointless exposition.

If it takes place after the end game, I'd get it. I like that universe a lot and I'd love to get some more time in it. Just thinking about it actually makes me want the new book....

The Mass Effect Posture Pack: Now your crew doesn't stand with their arms by the sides during every conversation!

Think of the things you can get for $5. Was Bringing Down the Sky really equal an experience to those things? Some silly Uncharted Random Mission is worth $5 really?

I liked the game but not enough to get any DLC for it. I never got the first download pack but I might pick up the actual sequal once it comes out. If ever.

I will buy anything that they put out that they slap "Mass Effect" on. Yes. I'm THAT guy.

@ Phantom: my favorite part, and by favorite I mean, the most awkward thing I noticed, is that at regular intervals, every character in the game will shift their weight back and forth for a few seconds while talking, then continue to stand their with arms at their sides.

I downloaded BDtS for free for PC, but I probably won't end up spending any money on Mass Effect DLC unless is adds quite a bit to the game. I would even spend $10 or $15 dollars on DLC if I felt I was getting some major additions to the game that would greatly expand replayability.

I liked the "Bring Down the Sky" mission, it felt like a regular story mission lite. I'd definitely buy more DLC, I love me some "Mass Effect".

I would like something that extended the story. Maybe to bridge ME1 to ME2.

@falinter

Same here. I beat it, loved it, but sold it, cause I needed to buy Grid.

I would buy it. I thought the first DLC pack was affordable and not a stupid price like Braid, Halo 3 maps and CoD4 maps.

The DLC provided some more play time for me on Mass Effect and I enjoyed it.
