Want a portable PS3 screen? Me neither photo

Hay guys, I have a super idea. I was just thinking, I got this new fangled PlayStation 3 that everyone's been talking about, and I want to be able to play it wherever I go. It's not really very portable, and I was thinking what would really be cool is if I had a tiny little portable screen to play my HD games and movies on. Yeah? Are you with me?

Okay, so it's not as lame as the Wii Party Station, but it seems kind of ironic, doesn't it? You have Nevover to thank for this fine offering, which measures in at 234 X 480 and comes with a bottle of Excedrin. I'm lying about the Excedrin, but if the team at Nevover survives this launch without being fired, they might want to prepack it in there for future shipments. It gives me a headache just looking at this freaking thing.

Take it from me: I have a small television at the moment, and it kind of ruins the HD experience when you have to peer at your screen like an elderly man through his spectacles. I don't think the average gamer is going to find this item useful, but if I'm wrong, feel free to tell me in the comments (you will anyway).

Wow, that screen is almost as small as the PS3's library of games.

Dear God... what the hell were they thinking when they made this?

Just to kick it up a notch... why not have a add on screen for the PSP!? Then you can claim to turn the PSP into a DS! BRILLIANT!

I've actually been looking for something like this.

I'm running a PS3 and XBOX 360 through a projector. If I run Folding@Home overnight on the PS3, I have to turn the projector on just the get a status and turn off the console.

If this releases at $99 or less, I will probably pick it up. Bonus points if video-in is HDMI or Component so I would also be able to use it for quick downloads on the XBOX 360.

I want to see someone walking around with one of these acting like it's a real portable.

What the hell is up with portable screens? It was cool with the PSone remake, like the really small one that fit in a glove box. That's it. The rest of them fail.

Kinda curious if we'll ever see thin-holographic screens (*although still needs cables to connect for video & audio). To think if it was possible, you would never have to worry about buying another mini-screen again.

But for now, this works, the screen is okay to a point. LIke you brought up, "staring at a screen like an elderly man with spectacles". Not really entertaining. And might hurt your eyes after awhile.

That...is small.

@coonskin05: Zing!

Yeah, nothing like hi-def, tru-to-life graphics on a screen smaller than the average old-school laptop LCD. Hook me right up.

Hell yes, with the PS3 portable screen you can play games on the road, then cook burgers with the PS3 too! Thats awesome.

man I can't wait to take my 50 pound ps3 on the bus and show all my cool games to my friends, and they will all tell me how awesome I am, but I wont be able to hear them because the generator that im connecting my ps3 to will be too loud.

... yeah that's retarded. my ps3 is happy not being portable. even if were lightweight enough, I wouldn't be caught dead hauling around a 600 dollar machine.

ceark:

That's what I really think should be the big issue here. I paid 600 smackers for the thing, I'm not about to tote it around in public, significantly increasing the *oh shit I'm bring robbed* ratio I already have when I'm outside the home.

Strained eyes aside, I'm more worried about the fact that Nevover expects buyers to actually take their expensive console out on a trip or something.

YES! Finally a way to watch BluRay movies in the car!

Now if there was a way to use a 380W console in the car without having to fry the DC socket...

So you're telling me there's a grill with a screen that plays built in games? Sweet. That's better than those games you can put in your van.

There's is NO way a PS3 would ever need that screen. Thing is hefty!

I hope I someday meet someone who actually purchased this screen for their PS3, so I can point and laugh.

yeah, like cjpkiller said, the 360 laptop was made by a pro who spent two months taking apart the 360 and putting it into a new case so that it would work perfectly as a laptop. it was just a challenge that he wanted to see if he could succeed in and he kept it for himself (or maybe sold it to somebody). this PS3 thing is just a couple of idiots trying to make some money.

also... considering this will cost at least 100 dollars you can probably just buy a small lcd computer moniter and hook it up in the back of the ps3... it may even be cheaper.
