Want 500,000 Microsoft points? You'll get a chance to win em soon photo

The NXE is almost upon us, and Microsoft certainly seems in the mood to celebrate. They have announced that they will be giving away a total of one million Microsoft points as part of the New Xbox Experience launch. The luckiest gamer will win 500,000 points, but other bundles of 50,000, 10,000 and 5,000 will also be given away. There's a catch, though (isn't there always!).

In order to enter you'll need to download the NXE, get your gamertag registered, and then purchase premium content from the marketplace -- a movie, a show, a full-length game, etc. If you intended to do that anyway, this makes for a nice perk, but if that's not possible for your wallet right now, you may have to sit this one out. You can get up to a total of ten entries, as you are automatically entered once each time you purchase premium content from the marketplace.

This will start this Wednesday, November 19th and run through Sunday, November 23rd, so if you plan to get it on it, keep your credit cards handy.

Hey, I held off on buying the Foo Fighters album in Rock Band last week so I could buy it this week, along with the three three-packs and one single. Five entries, suck it!

Also, you have to download the (free) gamerpic for the event before you're considered, so make sure to do that.

Sweet, TV shows count. I love having random Chapelle's show or South Park episodes on my 360 for a time when I'm bored and it's a cheap alternative to get a few entries.

It's a load of crap that you gotta buy something on top of downloading the NXE and a gamerpic.

I guess it's kinda lucky that they're putting out DK tracks on Rock Band this week.

Lucky for them... I just really didn't wanna have to suffer through the crush of dealing with the assuredly slow connect speeds that will occur on Wednesday night.

Holy Jesus! What the hell could you use those points for? There's not THAT much cool crap on XBLA or in DLC.

Well I suppose I have been to busy to push the unlock full game button on the new penny arcade game. Reason to hold off for a few more days.

what counts as "Premium Content". Is that free content like iono the original free gears pack or do I actually have to "Pay and Win"

I could use over 9000.
I can't believe I just said that, but I only made said statement because obviously someone has to. C'mon, someone had to say it.
Sorry everyone, sorry for wasting your time.
