Wanna know why the Xbox 360 isn't getting the Titan Pack for UT3? photo

I've had a few Destructoid readers ask me since yesterday why only the PS3 and PC are getting the Unreal Tournament III Titan Pack. And I knew the answer; it's just that my notes sucked, and I didn't want to misrepresent here. Instead, I'll let Epic Games tell you themselves. I've pulled this from an email they just sent:

The file size limitations prevent us from releasing it, not to mention we have things like split-screen support (which 360 already has), maps that are already in the 360 version, the integrated mod browser (which 360 doesn’t support)… the list goes on. Obviously, we are big supporters of Xbox 360 (Gears, anyone?) but there are significant hurdles keeping us from shipping the Titan Pack for Microsoft’s platform.

So there you have it. From what I understand, the code won't actually fit inside Microsoft's preset patch size limit.

And what I did recover from my notes of sh*tty handwriting details the rest as far as the maps are concerned. As said above, 5 of the maps were actually on the Xbox 360, but there's no chance at getting the other 11, as those require some of the new features or weapons included in the Titan update.

LOL at 360. Hope you guys enjoyed your penis video for GTAIV. The 360 software is suffering from file size limitations?! LMFAO!
I think I'm going to give my xbox another black eye for this.. then I'll point at the PS3 sitting next to it and say "Why can't you be sexy and thin like THAT system?!"

Basically your screwed over by MS. I wish they would support mods more. They need to allow easy translation of KB/M to PS3 controller cause I want some of these mods.

if only killzone 2 were to have KB/M support like this game does.
why the hell console FPSs don't give us the option?

Its funny how Burnout Paradise can have a downloadable update for free, but apparently Epic doesnt want to bother with that crap.

This is prolly just a lame excuse for saying that no one actually plays UT3 on the 360 so they dont want to bother with it.

Or, you know, it's MS's fault. Read the article again, numbnuts.

i wish they cared more about consumers actually being happy and not the amount of money they can "maybe" make by keeping things exclusive.

also, by they i mean all three major consoles.

Who the hell wanted to know that? I mean it's pretty obvious why it isn't for the 360. Unless they throw some of that sweet American money Epic's way to make it work.

So when I download demos in excess of 1gig on my PS3, the 360 CANNOT have downloads as there is a cap?

That toally sucks!

Im excited to turn this game on again!

Did anyone actually buy this for 360 anyway? O_o

I'm with Shoop. The 360 version of this game should never have existed anyway, so it's not big loss here.

I picked this up for 360 for $8 on Gamefly, had a bit of fun with it, then sold it for $10.

Good times.

I actually like UT3. Funny how "more of the same" has now become different because the new thing is "realistic" shooters.

And lol @ fanboys who say it sucks. You can't have everything you know. Unless, like me, you have all gaming platforms and don't have to justify not being able to play the other's exclusives.

@CALkulon:

The download for Burnout Paradise was not a title update, but something you had to download from the marketplace.

This sucks, I actually had a lot of fun with UT3 on my 360....I'd pay good money for the option of having this, even if it was still free on the PS3
