Wal-Mart memo pretty much confirms AC/DC's 'Live at Donington' for Rock Band photo

You know, it's great that Harmonix and MTV Games were able to snatch up AC/DC for Rock Band 2. And "Let There Be Rock"? It's not bad. But it's no "Thunderstruck." And it's certainly no "Back in Black."

Good thing those tracks and more are on AC/DC's upcoming Blu-ray re-release of their classic live show, Live at Donington. And according to a memo sent out to Wal-Mart employees today, it looks like Live at Donington is coming to Rock Band this October.

The memo (pictured above) refers to the release as the "Rock Band 2 AC/DC 'Live at Donington' Expansion Pack for Rock Band 2." Since the memo refers to in-store promotions, one could speculate that a full-on disc expansion pack may be on the way; it's also entirely possible that it simply refers to a marketing tie-in with downloadable content from the Rock Band store.

This is not the first time tracks from AC/DC's Live at Donington for Rock Band have been rumored. The track listing for Live at Donington, which is set to hit stores on October 16, can be found after the jump.

Please let this be true. This would be amazing. I would actually consider buying this entire pack of songs.

The expansion pack they're referring to could be intended for the Wii/PS2

Amazing scoop.

Well played Harmonix. Perhaps this is part of the free 20 tracks coming soon?

Over to you Neversoft/Activision...

The thing about all this GH -v- RB is that its the gamer that is the true winner. Finally devs are prepared to fork out the money required to get these A+ bands. No more Fallout Boy\30 seconds to Mars PLZ!

No,the 20 songs contain new artists that are not featured in the original 84 song setlist. Those will not be the 20 free tracks.

FYI- PS3 display units are being sent to the stores to showcase said "expansion", again making me think this will be a disc a la the Rock Band expansions for Wii and PS2.

It's great that we're getting this, but I'm hoping it's DLC of some sort. I don't want to have to switch discs just to play X number of songs.

I can live with an expansion disc for cheap, nothing like full retail of RB2. I still dont think they would do it though. There has been some success with the digital distribution of cds through RB DLC, so why waste money printing cds of the game. Like Necros said, it will suck to switch discs... hell thats why they let you transfer songs from RB1 to RB2. I could easily see a code inside the case when you buy the Live at Donington blu-ray though. That would be lame. =(
