Still waiting on a price drop for the memory cards. A free game is nice, especially if it's Uncharted or Unit 13, but if I'm gonna get a Vita, I want adequate storage space. And $100 for a 32GB stick (when microSD cards in that size can be found for $20) is unacceptable for me.
If anyone is planning on buying Uncharted: Golden Abyss, that makes the Wi-Fi model $200.

Thing is, while we didn't see a lot of Vita games during the Sony presser, we see a shit ton of them on the E3 show floor, as evidenced by all the previews we've seen here and around the intarwebz yesterday and today.
Totally baffling why they didn't show those during the press conference, but the Vita DOES, in fact, have a strong line-up to look forward to through the holidays.

Gamestop was doing this when I bought my Vita. They gave me a free case and either Hot Shots or Wipeout for free. They wouldn't give me any other game even if it was the same price. I got wipeout, and then went to target and exchanged it and the case for Uncharted and a memory card.
I'm still refusing to buy a Vita until either it comes bundled with a decent size memory stick or a price cut happens for the Vita itself or the memory sticks. It just isn't worth the additional costs in my opinion.
Erhrh,,, um, the Header picture / Article Picture on the main page shows a Vita with Wipeout on it,,, may be misleading to people that don't read articles since Wipeout isn't one of the free games.

I traded in my Wii and thought about buying the Vita or PS3. I didn't see any games that stood out to me besides Hot Shots and Shadow of the Colossus. So I could not justify spending over 100 dollars for one or two games.
I reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy want a Vita. I really, really do. I will get a Vita, no doubts about it. I just still feel like I want a better deal on either the memory cards or some of the games I want. :/
Get the memory sticks from Amazon, the 16 and 32 gig cards are like around $20 less MSRP now. I'll probably get one once I get my job later this year since the free 8 gig I got with the launch unit isn't enough for demos.

wow,I don't get it, gamers are the most whiny consumers, people kept saying the vita would be at least $400 before a price announcement. And now you've got a system AND a game for $250, and people complain because a 16 gb memory stick is too expensive ($43 in amazon)...I bought mine feb 22nd, and am absolutely happy with my purchase, it's an amazing little machine with some great games and a lot of potential. I'm from CR, where everything gaming related is 70-100% more expensive, my income is less than $500 per month and I'm not crying like a lot of people here.
With the Vita I've finally gotten into the portable Persona games and Monster Hunter.
You could argue about playing old shit on a new system, but I can guarantee that I wouldn't be playing them if I didn't have a Vita.
If you missed (or just ignored) the games for PSP, the Vita is a great way to catch up...if you can get past the price of them.

It's not always about not being able to afford something. The vita memory cards are class 4-type cards - other cards in that range are going for half the price of what sony is charging, and the only difference is that the vita cards are MORE restrictive, so what exactly are we paying for there? As much as I want persona 4 and other games I will be more than content with a 3ds if there never is a price drop or alternative card to buy.
Also, you make less than 500US a month and you paid extra for this thing? How do you eat?

Your first mistake was thinking that ANYONE who would say the Vita should cost $400 is also here saying the memory cards are too expensive. I'm pretty sure anyone who actually believed the former already has a Vita.
Your second mistake was thinking that your personal situation would have any effect on people who are not in a similar position as yours. People starving in Africa doesn't make a $20 hamburger any cheaper.
As a fellow CR citizen, I get you perfectly. But the fact that what we buy has an 80% markup actually exacerbates the price situation for us, which makes you trying to justify it to everyone else pretty baffling.

Between exclusive big third party games (CoD, AS3, SH, etc) and bite-sized Playstation Mobile games, there is also a lot of software driven content to be excited about for VITA. Of course, between PSM and big exclusives from the industries biggest publishers, the pricing schemes for VITA software will be very consumer friendly.

Best Buy is giving a $50 gift card with either model next week, while Target is giving a $50 gift card with the wifi version next week as well, fyi.
