Wal-Mart holiday bonus: $100 gift card with PS3, $30 with PS2 photo

Part of the company's "Operation Main Street" promotion, Wal-Mart is out to help your hurting wallet this holiday season by cutting prices and running promotions on a whole bunch of products you probably don't care about. They are anticipating saving customers $200 million this holiday season.

There are a few items to take note of, though. With the purchase of a shiny new PS3, you'll nab a $100 gift card under this promotion. That's another DualShock 3 and a game! If you're needing another PlayStation 2, they'll be handing out $30 gift cards  with it. That's... another game for the PS2.

Other items listed at Twice may or may not be of interest to you:

  • a "variety" of videogames chopped down to $19.82
  • Compaq CQ-13WM 15.4-inch laptop, 2GB RAM, 160GB HD $298
  • 2GB Sony Walkman MP3 player $49
  • Magnavox Blu-ray player $198
  • Frumpy-ass, ill-fitting shirt in puke green $2.97
  • "Mom jeans"
This promotion kicks off on November 8th, and lasts seven weeks.

I got my ps3 on the last $100 promo- unfortunately it was a 40 gig- but no biggie

Uh, this article is a little misleading. I understand it's unintentional, but when I went into Wal-Mart I was told that the $100 gift card with the purchase of a PS3 promotion was only for the 8th. The article made it sound like this PS3 promotion would last for seven weeks, when, apparently, it actually refers to the Operation Mainstreet promotion as a whole.

That, or I was told a bunch of crap by incompetent employees. >:(

Dale, I would kindly ask that you take down the picture of my grandfather. That was our family portrait day and was one of the last pictures we had of him before he passed on from unrelated lead paint absorption.
