Wait, this is TimeShift?

1:33 PM on 04.11.2007   |   Nick Chester

Some new screens have surfaced of the Vivendi Universal published game, Timeshift. Not to be confused with the Atari published game of the same name, of course. Wait -- they're the same game! That is confusing.

Here's the deal -- TimeShift probably should have been out awhile ago, but you know -- the best laid plans, bad press, and all that jazz. The Saber Interactive title was originally being published by Atari, but didn't seem to be meeting their lofty expectations. A demo was released, which was met with cynical press and rampant internet-troll whining. The game was delayed, and then in August of last year, publishing rights shifted over the Vivendi.

Now it's back and it's almost entirely unrecognizable, as it looks significantly different (and better, visually) than the game that was shown last year. TimeShift is now on track for a 2007 (Xbox 360, PC, PS3) and still, unfortunately, features voice acting by Dennis Quaid.

Speaking of the Quaid, I saw Dreamscape the other day. I loved that movie as a kid. That cobra guy scared the shit out of me. Now that I've seen it as an adult, not so much.

Yeah, what an upgrade! But also, it is only rumored to be on the Playstation 3 right now cuz it was originally suppose to come out in Spring last year and now that the ps3 is out, why not? =P Anyways, I'm actually looking forwards to this now... the demo I played wayyy back in the day was just okay, now that the visuals have been spiked up... it has caught my interest =D

Whoah. I was on this game when I was with Atari a couple years back. It was decent, albeit a little hackneyed back then. Now it looks like a completely different game. I guess that's what two years and a pile of money coming from WoW can do to a game.

Oh man! It does look quite a bit better. I liked what I saw of the gameplay of Atari's demo, but the voice acting was sooo horrible. I will just continue to hope that they will fix this...even though they are still using the same actors.
