Wahhh-ree-oh!: Nintendo reveals Wario Land: Shake It! for Wii photo

We first brought you news of this upcoming side-scroller back in May, but today Nintendo has officially revealed Wario Land: Shake It! for North American release.

The game appears to mix classic side-scrolling platforming with Wii Remote functionality. Shaking the remote will cause Wario to take out enemies, loot treasures, and cause earthquakes. Nintendo says the game has multiple stages and missions, with many unlockables that will keep players coming back to collect more coins or just improve their best play times. Could Shake It! also include online leaderboards?

Wario Land: Shake It! is already dated for a September 29, 2008, release. Any game where we get to hear Wario whine, groan, and cackle is worth some pre-order dollars. We can't be the only ones clipping pictures of Wario out of Nintendo Power and hanging them on our walls, right?

The last platformer I played with the shaking mechanic was Mischief Makers. When I consider how much fun I had with Wario Land 4 and factor in the shaking from Mischief Makers with cut scenes from Production IG, I get tingly in all the right places. DO WANT!

I loved the first WarioWare for Wii, but this just sounds like a waggle-fest with that title :-)

this might be one minigame collection that I might get :-)

I don't think this is a minigame collection. I think its a sidescrolling game.

DO WANT.

I love the Warioland Games, and this will be a nice addition, if it's not a wagglefest.

I don't want to make hasty judgment, but does "Shake it" sound like a waggle-fest to anyone else?

That's how a modern day 2d side-scroller should look.
