Voting for Xbox Live Indie Games Summer Uprising now open

1:45 PM on 08.02.2011

The Indie Games Summer Uprising is a developer-run initiative to give more exposure to the higher quality independent titles offered on Xbox Live. Because let's face it, there's a ton of garbage to sift through, and most people aren't willing to get a little dirty to find true gems. This trailer shows which games are confirmed for the Summer Uprising.

There are, however, two open spots left. That's where you come in! Over on Facebook, you can vote to determine who makes the final cut. The full line-up of games will be announced on August 16, with voting closing the day before.

Of the bunch selected so far, I'd have to say SpeedRunner looks the most appealing to me. Then again, I am a sucker for grappling hooks. Train Frontier Express will likely see a warm reception as well, given how similar titles have performed on PC.

I played a bunch of bizarre first-person shooters so you don't have to

You remember Superhot, don't you? It's a first-person shooter in which time progresses at a normal speed only when you move. Or how about Receiver? It had somewhat realistic gun handling that made for a rewarding experience. ...more

The Blue Flamingo is a ridiculously adorable shmup

Swedish game studio Might and Delight really knows how to make games that stand out visually. Its attractive-looking paper art style on the Shelter series is, in my mind, unmistakable. I can recognize the stud...more
