VizionEck

VizionEck is 'technically' an FPS for PS4, but you could've fooled me

This trailer for VizionEck by a studio also named VizionEck isn't going to make any damn sense yet. Consider holding off for just a bit. Though the video doesn't make it obvious, this is "technically" a first-person shooter for PlayStation 4 in which you play a cube-like Ranger.

Those are the facts. Here are some more: your health is indicated as the brightness of your outlines. If you're hurt real bad, your Ranger will be mostly black, allowing it to blend in with its dark surroundings. And there are also cubes that look just like Rangers laying around the environment, meaning you can sit still and play mind games with paranoid players.

Okay, now try watching the video. Apparently there's "loads more hinted and demonstrated" in it. I get that VizionEck is an unusual game, and VizionEck wanted to announce it in a fitting manner, but I feel as if I don't have a fundamental grasp on how this will play. I need a bit more to go on.

Review: Pneuma: Breath of Life

Pneuma: Breath of Life is, through and through, a creationist tale. There's no theory of evolution, carbon dating, or Darwinism to cause debate. It's one god and the world that he brought into existence mere seconds earlier. As it turns out, being the only inhabitant of a world is a dull affair.more

Y2K is a surrealist fantasy told through the lens of a Murakami-loving hipster

Y2K began with protagonist Alex Eggleston returning to his his hometown from college. I watched him gaze out of bus windows until the scene shifted to him sharing a seat with a man in a panda costume. This was jarring enough to give Alex reason to look completely shaken and offended, and as the jaunty soundtrack suggested, should have felt super quirky and weird. It didn't.more
